Coolmine were delighted to welcome funders, local stakeholders and friends to the official launch of Teaghlach: Coolmine Family Service in Cork on June 8. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with community, statutory and healthcare partners and showcase this important new support for families impacted by addiction.
The event marked a significant milestone for family-focused services in the region, highlighting the growing need for community-based, therapeutic supports that work with the whole family. Guests had the chance to meet the multidisciplinary team, tour the purpose-designed space in Gurranabraher and learn more about the range of evidence-based interventions available.
Funded by HSE Drug and Alcohol Services and the Cork and Kerry Drug and Alcohol Task Force, Teaghlach provides a wraparound, trauma-informed service supporting parents, children and caregivers. Through approaches such as Parenting Under Pressure (PUP), play therapy and art therapy, the service is already helping families strengthen relationships, build resilience and support recovery.
We are grateful for the strong support shown on the day and look forward to continuing to work with local partners to ensure families across Cork can access the care they need. Teaghlach represents hope, healing and a shared commitment to breaking cycles of addiction through compassionate, family-centred support.
