The film tells the true story of LGBTQ+ activists who supported striking miners during the 1984 miners' strike, forging friendships and solidarity that would leave a lasting mark on both communities.

And that story still resonates today. Last weekend in the UK, Durham Pride celebrated one of its biggest events yet, despite having their funding cut by the county council. Trade unions, miners, and the local community stepped in to back the event and raise money to ensure Pride could go ahead. It's a powerful reminder that the spirit of solidarity at the heart of Pride remains as relevant as ever.

“Sapphic” is an identity term or label generally used to describe women’s attraction to other women. It’s an umbrella term for le****ns, bisexual/ pansexual women, and q***r women. It’s almost used as a synonym for “WLW” or “women who love women”. However, the term “sapphic” is actually much more expansive than this.

23 organisations. One shared vision for the future of equality in Ireland. Together with a nationwide coalition of LGBTQI+ groups, we have submitted a joint report to the United Nations ahead of Ireland’s human rights review this November.

By bringing together current research, analysis and real lived experiences, our submission aims to serve as a wake up call and provide a constructive roadmap for the future - offering 33 recommendations in areas like safety, healthcare, and education.

We look forward to engaging in the review and working collaboratively to build an even more inclusive Ireland where every member of our community feels respected, connected, supported, and valued for exactly who they are.

Will you support Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre through the AIB Community Fund 2026? 🌈

For almost 30 years, Outhouse has been a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ people in Dublin; a place for connection, support, community organising, and belonging. We're asking you to nominate us for the AIB Community €1 Million Fund 2026.

This could help us continue growing our programmes and services, everything from peer support groups and community events, to wellbeing programmes, advocacy, and safer social spaces.

It should only take a couple of minutes! Just visit www.aib.ie/personal-forms/community-fund (link in bio 🔗) and enter the following details:

• Charity Name: Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre
• Charity Registration Number: 20033293
• Charity Location: Greater Dublin
• Social Theme: “Other”

You’ll also be asked for a short sentence about why Outhouse should receive funding. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, 19 June at 5pm. Thank you in advance for your nomination! 🫶
