UCD Medical School Class of '92 Reunion UCD Medical School Reunion Class of 1992

20/12/2016

Hi All ,
This is your advanced notice of the UCD Medical School Class of 1992 Reunion dinner as organised by the Medical School Graduates Committee.
It is on on Friday night 12/5/17.
We had a great turnout 5 years ago and it would be great to have another big turnout.
As it stands, UCD is organizing the Friday nigh. Last time out there was a function in Carton House on the Saturday night that was a great success organized by Seamus Linnane.
At present there is no event organized for the Saturday night but perhaps people might like to indicate there interest in such an event and someone might like to step up and kick start things.
I am unfortunately involved in religious activities on the Saturday so can not do it this time.
Please forward this email on to anyone who you know who is not on the email list as it is not comprehensive and emails may have changed.

Finally there is a group meeting in Hartigan's this Friday from about 8:30 on, where this and other matters of considerable import will be discussed in some detail.
Y'all come.

Saturday evening , 58 of us gathered in Carton House, of whom roughly 35 were class members . THe FA cup result was disappointing but glad rags were put on and we gathered for drinks in rather grand surroundings. We had a great meal and followed by the soundtrack to our indy youth as imagined by Cian Muldoon. John Bogue got his David Bailey on and is responsible for the quality shots from later in the evening. They have been presented en mass and do give a feel for what was one of the best nights we've all had since the night before .
My thanks to Martin O'Brien for organising the flower presentation at 4 in the morning. Touching.
Colm , Dominick And Bert got the singing going as the sun was coming up as a memorable evening finished off in traditional fashion.
Maybe not next year but perhaps five years time , we might have recovered enough to want to do it all again so keep it in the back of your minds and mention it to anyone who wasn't here this year should you meet them.
If anyone has photos of Friday night , it would be great to see them- ooh forgot to mention Liz and Steve who travelled from Tampa for the long weekend - top marks for effort - I think you have snaps from Hartos- Really looking forward to seeing them.

Hi All,
Great weekend . Superb talk on Friday afternoon when Barry White stole the show with his outline how the class of 92 are shaping the future of the Irish healthcare system. 20 of us were on hand to get the weekend started early.
Most gathered for the reception in the O'Reilly hall at 7pm . THe class of 92 were by far the largest grouping with 6 tables of 10 people.
Congratulations and thanks must go to Dyanan who travelled over from Mauritius for the evening. Ailish Kennedy seemed to stumble on the event fortuitously last week and it was great she could fit it into her plans.
Brian Sweeney and John Stokes were kind enough to do doormen for the evening.
The event moved seemlessly, nay flowed, into Hartos around the 11 mark where we were greeted by a few more familiar faces- Ger Crampton , John Magner and Willie Magner ( which one was in our class anyway?). Peter Hughes started giving spiritual guidance later on in the evening and drove a trusting group of innocents on to bucks. The wiser amongst us had taken the oppurtunity to head for home.

It has come to the Committee's attention that there is a hiatus of some 3 -4 hours after the close of the academic meeting and the beginning of the meal at 7pm in UCD.
The Committee has concluded that it might suit some to congregate in O'Shea's Clonskeagh House which you can walk to in about 10-15 min (depending on the height of the heel) out through Richview.
The class photos are due to be taken at 7pm immediately prior to the meal so it would be good if we were out of O'Sheas by at least 18.40 at the latest.
If anyone cannot make the meal, but has something they need to get off their chest , then there will be an angry mob assembling in Hartigan's from 9pm on and we would love to see you.
Regards,
The Committee
