Why is my back aching? This is a question asked by a lot of people. People have back aches for a lot different reasons, but knowing why is mandatory for getting relief. The body usually offers many signals but often a client telling his or her story solves the problem. In my many years of dealing with back pain, I have found out there is three types of pain; physical, emotional and structural.
Physical pain refers to muscles ligaments and tendons and poor body mechanics. So much pain that that people suffer is exclusively due to weak, rigid or lopsided muscles that won’t let the body function properly as designed and as a result dysfunction basically leads to pain. Some people may be able to cut loose while other may not.
Emotional pain is very different than any other category of pain. Emotional pain can be an indication of the body’s inadequacy to manage different types of stress. The idea that stress and emotional strain causes back and other body aches, some of my clients suffer from these problems. Causes of emotional stress can be related to work, financial difficulties, family & children, relationship problems and being too busy.
By structural I mean things like kyphosis, sport injuries, problems with child birth, surgeries gone wrong, and accidents such as car crashes. On one level these are proportionally straight forward to work with. They can be diagnosed and sometimes treated. But where I think the other two options are treatable, sometimes structural matters can be so dominant that sustainment is the best someone could hope for and that sustainment is obligatory if the body is not to worsen any further.
The main thing is if feeling emotionally drained or physical pain and you want to get out of it. The main step in this guidance has to be finding out why the pain started. The effort that you put into investigating your pain, the more chance you have in finding out what is causing the problem or in fact, the actual problem.
