Meet Dr Desislava Andreeva, one of the ophthalmologists on our team at Veonet Dublin Carrickmines.

Originally from Bulgaria, raised in Canada, and now settled in Dublin since 2022, Dr Andreeva brought an unusual path into eye surgery: a love of drawing and painting that led her straight into ophthalmology. "Ocular surgery has an art to it," she says.

She featured in The Irish Times' New to the Parish series this week, talking about swapping four seasons for Irish rain and sun, and why she's decided to make Ireland home for good.

We're glad she did.

Cataract surgery in our specialist clinic in Belfast
Complimentary transport to and from the clinic
All for €1,312 per eye — and if eligible, this may be fully reimbursed by the HSE.
If you, or your patients, are currently awaiting surgery, or know someone who could benefit, please contact us on 1800 85 20 25.

There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing from a patient whose life has been transformed through restored vision. One recent google review captured it perfectly — they shared how “their vision is now fantastic, and can’t wait to buy a normal pair of sunglasses again!”

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. We take the time to listen, to understand unique needs, and to deliver personalised, consultant-led care that achieves the best possible outcome.

Clear vision isn’t just about seeing better — it’s about living fully, confidently, and independently. At Veonet Ireland, that’s the standard we strive for every day.

Do you suffer from Dry Eyes at Work and Beyond?

Dry Eye Disease doesn’t just affect comfort — it can impact focus, productivity, and overall quality of life, especially for those spending long hours on screens. Studies show that up to 50% of people over 60 experience symptoms, and in Ireland, more than 300,000 people may be affected.
As screen use increases and our working lives become more digitally demanding, recognising and treating dry eye is essential for maintaining healthy, comfortable vision. At Veonet Ireland, our specialist eye clinics across the country help restore and protect vision through expert diagnosis, advanced treatments, and personalised care.
