It definitely fills your cup when you see people feel calm, seen, safe and connected. It’s such a powerful thing and I’m so grateful that I get to support people in this way!

I’m still figuring things out and building this path for myself, but moments like this remind me I’m moving in the right direction.

Happy Pride Everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

With everything going on in the world, it’s so important to create safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people, building a sense of community where you can just be who you are, no explanation needed, people just understand you.

Thats why I started the Q***r Yoga classes, its something I wanted to do once I knew I wanted to do my yoga teacher training, creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ people, where people can breathe and connect with themselves, flowing authentically on the mat.

And this is why I am so excited to hold a fundraiser with Belong To You – LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland, the national organisation for LGBTQ+ young people and their families in Ireland. I’ve tucked the poster to the end of the post for the moment. Save the date! Details and booking links coming in the next few days!

📆 20th June
⏰ 12:00 - 13:00

This is a donation based event fundraising for Belong To. 100% of proceeds will go to Belong To, if you can’t make the event, I’d invite you to donate to support the amazing work they do!

Your hips don’t lie, they not only hold tightness, they hold stress.

The psoas, a deep core muscle that connects your spine to your legs tightens when you feel stressed. With the business of our lives nowadays, constant stress and hours of sitting, it never fully relaxes.

That tension gets stored in your hips as chronic tightness, and sometimes even emotional when you release it

That’s why opening the hips in yoga can feel unexpectedly emotional, you’re not just stretching muscles, you’re releasing stored stress from your nervous system.

These 5 poses help:
🦋 Butterfly
🦎 Lizard
👶 Happy Baby
🕊️ Pigeon
🧘 Squat

Hold them slowly, breathe, and let your hips and your body finally relax, remember to do the other side too!

Save this for your next practice and share it with someone whose hips are always tight

I’ve always believed in creating a safe space for every body to practice yoga 🧘‍♂️

That’s why I’m introducing consent cards for hands on adjustments to my indoor classes. A simple flip of a card tells me whether you would like them or not.

Both options are 100% okay with me and no explanation needed! We all have different experiences and what’s important to me is you feeling safe on the mat. After all, it’s your class, I’m just here to support you as best I can.

You can always flip your card over anytime throughout the class. I ask that you place it at the top of the mat to the side closest to me so I can see it clearly!

Just you, your breath, and a space that respects you.

I always end a class with your right hand on your heart, left hand on your belly, taking a moment of gratitude.

It’s simple, yet powerful, helping to lower cortisol (your stress hormone) while boosting your dopamine and serotonin.

Today, I want to take that gratitude outward.

To everyone who came last Sunday, thank you! It’s always a little bit nerve wracking starting a new class. You wonder, Is anyone going to show up? Will they enjoy it? Can I really do this? So reading your kind reviews genuinely means a lot!

It reminds me of about two years ago chatting to a friend saying this would be the dream, teaching yoga and supporting people. At the time it felt somewhere between a fever dream and delusion.

But here we are!

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it!
