OrthoClinic

OrthoClinic OrthoClinic is a brand new practice, designed specifically for patient comfort and treatment.

OrthoClinic has closed for the next few weeks in line with best public health practice.
For any patients who are concerned that their treatment will be delayed, or that adjustments are required, you can be reassured that all patients have been fitted with Damon self-lighting brackets. This type of brace holds the wire without being held by traditional elastics. It is therefore possible to leave the brace in place for a considerable length of time without needing an adjustment. Your wires will continue to work whilst we are waiting for this virus to pass and treatment can resume when it is safe to do so.
For Invisalign users, continue moving forwards with your next aligner as per your treatment plan. Any concerns, leave a message on the practice voicemail.
For those of you wearing removable appliances, continue to wear as normal.
Please be extra careful when eating over the next few weeks, avoiding any hard, sticky, crunchy food in order to miminise any breakages of a fixed brace.
However, if you or your child needs urgent emergency treatment, please leave a message on the practice voicemail. If you have any concerns about treatment or have any questions, also leave a message and I will return your call. All voicemails are forwarded to my mobile.
Take care to all of my patients! Looking forward to seeing all of you and continuing with your treatment as soon as possible.
Best wishes
Audrey

The priority to protect the safety of our team in the practice and our patients is absolute. We are committed to taking action to whatever level to support the safety of all. A dental professionals frequent direct or indirect contact with human fluids, patient materials, and contaminated dental instruments or environmental surfaces makers a possible route to the spread of the virus.
In light of this, there will be some changes to how the practice operates over the next few weeks or month to come.
1. We would ask that you wash your hands and use disinfectant hand wash immediately before taking a seat in the waiting room.
2. You will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire.
3. You will have your temperature taken.
4. We request that the number of people accompanying you or your child be kept to a minimum.
5. You will be asked to use a special mouthwash prior to your appointment.
6. You will be asked to wear a protective apron during treatment.
7. The surgery door will remain closed during any appointments in order to prevent aerosol dispersal.
It is routine for us to use the highest of standards in cross-infection control during normal operation of the clinic, in line with the recommendations of the Irish Dental Council. However, we have implemented some additional measures in order to mitigate any risk of virus transmission in the practice. As a result, there may be some delay in the way appointments are running throughout the day. If you are kept waiting for your appointment, we apologise in advance but hope you understand that this will be for the protection of you, your child and our staff.
Staff handwashing will occur
1. Before any patient examination.
2. Before dental procedures.
3. After touching surroundings and equipment without disinfection.
4. After touching the oral mucosa and dental procedures.
As airborne droplet transmission of infection is considered the main route of spread, particularly in dental clinics and hospitals, barrier protection equipment for staff, including protective eye wear, mask, gloves, face shields and protective outwear will be worn. This is standard practice anyway.
We will undertake effective and strict disinfection measures both in the clinic setting and public areas. Public areas and appliances will be frequently disinfected, including door handles, chairs and desks. As always, the surgery will be disinfected between patients.
Medical waste and disinfection of instruments will continue to be treated as per the Dental Council guidelines and normal practice.
For now, it is business as usual and we look forward to continuing to welcome you to our practice and committing to the highest level of safety around this issue. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
