Is comhlacht suaimhnis agus míúin dátheangach é Solas Relaxation. Is leis an t-iriseoir agus an scríbhneoir, Katie McGreal an comhlacht. Cuireann sí ranganna suaimhnis ar fáil do dhaoine fásta agus daoine óga i mBéarla agus Gaeilge. Cuireann sí na ranganna in oiriúint don ghrúpa atá ann ó thaobh áit, fad agus ábhar. Leanann na ranganna seo seacht gcéim. Bíonn cluichí ann agus déantar massage ar a chéile agus orthu féin. Labhraíonn siad faoi rudaí dearfacha - rudaí maithe a tharla an lá sin, focail dhearfacha agus mar sin. Déantar roinnt stretches agus bíonn cúpla cluiche ann atá dírithe ar an analú - cá bhfuil sé le mothú agus mar sin. Ansin bíonn am suaimhnais ann ag deireadh an ranga ina luann na daoine óga síos agus éisteann siad le visualisation. Sna ranganna do dhaoine fásta, bíonn trí chineál machnamhach ann - an visualisation, machnamhach siúlóide agus machnamhach suigh.

Solas Relaxation is a bilingual meditation and relaxation company founded by the journalist and writer, Katie McGreal. She provides relaxation classes for all ages in English and Irish. All classes are tailored to meet the needs of the students. She is a Relax Kids Coach. These classes follow seven steps; game playing, peer and self massage, movement, positive words and thinking, stretches and focusing on the breath. There is then a relaxation section where a visualisation is read out while the students sit or lie down to listen to it and fully relax. During adult classes, there are three types of meditation; a visualisation, a walking meditation and a sitting meditation.

We start the Intermediate class tomorrow evening at 7pm Irish time and Beginner 2 begins on Thursday!

I am so excited for this 6 week term of Irish classes!

Beginner 2 is a class for people that maybe have done a lot of self study but haven't done much with other people and Intermediate is for for people who maybe studied Irish in school or who have studied it in the past and would like to return to it.

Classes are fun, interactive with lots of banter amongst the students and lots of space for questions. I love to give students opportunities to get to know each other and to chat so they can practice what we're learning and what they already know.

Jessy is one of my returning students, and I have also done some one to one work with her, so if I can't convince you that this is the group class for you, maybe she will! 😉

If you want to join us, book your place as soon as possible! Link to book is in the cover photo and DM us with any questions!

We are starting both group Irish classes this week and we still have a few places available if you would like to join us!

All classes are fun, lots of chances to ask questions and to chat with your fellow learners and if you have any specific questions, I always encourage my students to ask them!

Last term asked for a certain grammar subject to be covered and the follow week's notes covered that specific subject

If you are curious or have questions DM me and if you'd just like to book your place check out the link in the cover photo and I can't wait to see how much progress you can make in just 6 weeks of classes!

Just 5 days into the 30 Day Meditation Accountability Group and it has been such a lovely experience so far!

If you would like to learn to sit with yourself, notice your feelings, thoughts and emotions and then let them go this meditation journey is for you.

Meditation helps you to notice how you are feeling and from the place of noticing, you get to decide what to do with it; you're tired take a nap, you're angry maybe you need to scream into a pillow, you're feeling really happy maybe you need to notice that for a little bit.

If you want to join us there is still time! Send me a message and I will send you the link to join us for the rest of the 30 days

I was so disappointed when my really funny letter home from the Gaeltacht in an Irish exam got me such a poor mark. The teacher didn't give me any points for creativity. At all! It was all about my spelling and grammar and maybe I should have realised that before I did the exam but I didn't and learnt the hard way.

If I was someone to be put off by a bad grade in a class, that event could have easily stopped me writing altogether; it didn't. Thank god but I do fully understand what people are talking about when they say that Irish isn't taught in schools like an exam, it is taught like a school subject.

That teacher didn't care if I had a funny story about cow tipping at night, they just wanted all of my séimhiús and úrús in the right place and they were not. This is my experience of learning Irish in a school setting and I didn't love it, which is why I always make sure during my classes we focus on how we can use Irish in everyday life and communicating effectively and efficiently.

Grammar is of course important, but missing a séimhiú here and there isn't the end of the world.

Irish is a method of communication and if, while I am learning, I miss out of a few úrú it is okay and the people will still understand you.

So if that method of learning Irish sounds good to you, join our next term of Irish classes starting next week on the 15th and 17th September for Beginner 2 and Intermediate level.

Check out the link in the bio or cover photo for more information and I can't wait to see you then!

We have started the 30 Day Meditation Accountability Group and today is the second day and already, I am loving reading everyone's responses!

This is a supportive group to help you create a regular meditation practice.

Meditation helps when we feel overwhelmed, anxious or stressed.
It teaches us to come back to the body, to notice what we are feeling or even what we can see around us to help us ground and come back to reality.
Our minds tell us stories all the time and most of them aren't true. Most of the stories haven't happened but we still believe them.

Meditation helps us to realise that they aren't necessarily facts and they aren't necessarily true.

If you're interested in experiencing some of the benefits of meditation, it's not too late to join us!

DM me or check out the link in the cover photo and sign up and I can't wait to see you inside!

One of the main questions I get asked about language teaching is what is the dialect or accent of the teacher?

Our English teachers are from Ireland and Argentina. Our Irish teacher is me and I have a mixture of all three dialects of Irish but what all of our teachers have in common, is a really good understanding and knowledge of the language we are teaching.

If you learn English from an Australian or a Scottish person, your accent will be slightly different and some words and phrases will be different but you will still be learning English. You will learn the same sentence structures and different meanings of different words.

The same happens in Irish. There are three Irish dialects but all three are part of the same language.

My own Irish is a complete mixture of all three dialects so I can teach you well in all dialects but the main one that I use in my own Irish is probably Conamara, with some Ulster and Munster words thrown in there too.

Finding a language teacher that teaches in a way that you learn and who you get on with is much more important then a teacher who speaks the dialect or in the accent that you want to learn. If you have a teacher that teaches Munster Irish but you don´t like their style of learning, you aren´t going to learn, whether that is your prefered dialect or not.

I hope that helps
