We are behind McGinn’s Hop House 🇵🇸 100% 👏👏👏

Fed up with Galway City Council spending money where’s its not needed and not spending money where it is needed!

We have had lots of requests for eclipse glasses ahead of the eclipse next week. Unfortunately we don’t stock them but Astronomy Ireland do if you are looking for them.

We will be taking the tried and tested Patrick Keating method and useing his old welding masks.

Don’t look directly at the sun!!

Notice anything missing…. We would love our sign back if anyone knows who took it. Was only recently painted with gold leaf by with a grant from as part of the recent shop front restoration scheme.
Not a nice thing to come into on a Wednesday morning.

Helen really wanted to celebrate when she was 40 years in business but a certain virus got in the way. So we have decided to celebrate 45 years because why the hell not!

Helen opened in January 1981 in the cathedral buildings and has been on Middle St ever since. We are very proud to still be a family run, independent business and hope this continues for the next 45 years!

There have been a lot of changes on the street and in optometry over the years but one thing that is a constant is you our wonderful customers! So we are planning a little party in the shop on Saturday the 17th of January and we would love to see as many of you as possible to celebrate.

On the day we will be having a raffle in aid of the Galway Hospice in memory of Helen’s husband and fellow company director Patrick Keating who is missed every day. Tickets are on sale now! We have lots of brilliant prizes! Tickets available in the shop so pop in any time!
