Sláinte Wellness Anne Murray, Nutritional Therapist & Wellbeing Coach | Family Nutrition & Menopause Expert | Workplace Wellness Consultant | Optimising Health & Wellness 🌿

Nutritional Therapy aims to heal the body using the nutritional benefits and medicinal properties of food. During a consultation I use various testing which includes the pH of saliva & urine, blood pressure and your glucose levels along with live blood and dry blood analysis to help determine the health of the terrain. The Health Plan is customised to each clients terrain and the aim is to bring the terrain back into balance and optimise good health. Good health starts with good digestion, it is not enough to say 'you are what you eat' it is important to understand that 'you are what you eat, digest and assimilate'. A healthy diet must include optimising digestion. Poor digestion will result in digestive discomfort e.g. reflux, heartburn, bloating, flatulence, constipation, diarrhoea. Good digestion will lead to good resources - when resources (especially minerals) are depleted the body will give signs that resources are low e.g. low blood pressure, cramping, PMS, insomnia, headaches, low thyroid. Hydration is No.1 but it is important to drink clean filtered water. If you are currently concerned about some aspect of your health or if you are interested in optimising your health and well-being - book at consultation with me and together we will customise a health plan and start your health journey .

Your liver plays a central role in hormone balance, especially during perimenopause and menopause. It helps process and clear excess oestrogen - if this process is not optimal oestrogen can build in the body leading to PMS, heavy periods, fibroid’s & perimenopause symptoms. When the liver is under strain, hormones can feel out of balance.

Supporting the liver through nutrition, hydration, movement, sleep and reducing toxic load can make a real difference to how women feel.

Ever heard of the COMT gene?

It plays a role in how the body breaks down certain neurotransmitters and hormone-related compounds.

Some people may process these more quickly or more slowly, which can influence stress response, stimulant tolerance, and aspects of hormone balance.

But genes are never the full story — symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle and overall load matter too.

Your liver is your body’s master detoxifier — filtering blood, processing hormones, medications, alcohol, and environmental toxins.
It also produces bile for healthy digestion, regulates blood sugar, stores key nutrients, and supports energy, metabolism, and hormone balance.
When liver function is overloaded, it can impact everything from digestion and skin to mood and energy.

Support your liver daily with real food, hydration, movement, and reducing toxic load.

So excited to share that I have an article in the second edition of UBFit Health & Wellness Galway Magazine titled “Why Good Digestion Changes Everything.”

This edition features 30 inspiring and informative articles, with everything from an incredible story of running across America to expert advice on breathwork, persistent pain, skin health, financial wellbeing and much more.

It is a truly fabulous read and a great way to support local business in Galway. Well done to Eoin O'Donnellan of UBFit - Bearna Hub and his wonderful graphic designer and digital artist Tom Taheny for bringing it all together and building the community.

There is something lovely about going back to holding a magazine in your hands and taking time to properly enjoy the content.

Copies are priced at €8, and to make it easy to order I have added my Revolut QR code on my website with a celebratory free postage for the first ten orders placed with Sláinte Wellness. Click here to order https://slaintewellness.ie/ubfit-health-wellness-galway-magazine/

It would be wonderful to see support for this local initiative and, in doing so, help strengthen and grow the health and wellness community in Galway.

What a day. đź’ś

International Women’s Day gave me the perfect opportunity to reflect on the incredible power of women who show up, speak up and lift one another along the way — and on the amazing support of especially

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Network Ireland event at The Strand Hotel, Limerick, surrounded by so many inspiring women. It was such an uplifting celebration of leadership, resilience, inclusion and possibility.

A huge well done to and team for organising such a wonderful event to mark International Women’s Day.

A particularly moving highlight was hearing from and the amazing young ladies who brought such warmth, presence and joy to the room.

Annie Conway, in particular, was exceptional, such an articulate and powerful advocate for inclusion, opportunity and ability. Her words were honest, confident and deeply impactful, earning a very well-deserved standing ovation.

I also want to shine a light on a Galway woman I was delighted to sit beside and meet for the second time, Orla Canney. Orla has already established her own HR consulting company and is certainly one to watch. I first met her through Network Ireland, and it was a lovely coincidence to learn she also attended the University of Limerick with my daughter Ellen Casserly.

She is a very inspiring young woman, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with her.

International Women’s Day is about recognising the value women bring every single day, through our ideas, our leadership, our compassion, our courage, and the way we continue to show up, even when the path is not always easy.

Here’s to women of all ages and stages who are making a difference simply by being fully themselves.
