💉 Flu & COVID Vaccinations 2026/27

Our winter vaccination service is now underway at Lavelle’s Pharmacy

Flu vaccination currently available:
✅ 65+ — Enhanced Flu Vaccine
✅ Ages 2–17 — Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine

COVID-19 booster for winter 2026/27 is also now available for eligible patients.

Coming soon:
• Private flu vaccinations — expected to arrive in the next couple of weeks
• HSE flu vaccines for eligible 18–64 year olds — we’re currently awaiting these

We’ll keep you updated as soon as the vaccines are available.

MediBack, a free, nationwide service funded by the HSE that allows you to safely return unused, unwanted, or expired medicines to any local community pharmacy for responsible disposal.

The scheme aims to reduce the risks of accidental poisoning, prevent the contamination of water systems, and tackle antimicrobial resistance caused by flushing or throwing away drugs.

📦 What You Can Return

* Accepted Items: Prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, tablets/capsules, liquid medications, medicated drops, ointments, sprays, inhalers, and injector devices (with needles removed).

* Not Accepted Items: Sharps, loose needles, vapes, clinical waste, and non-medicinal chemicals

📝 How to Prepare Your Items

To help pharmacists process your returns efficiently, follow these preparation steps:

* Leave tablets and capsules in their original aluminum foil strips, blisters or pots but remove and recycle the outer cardboard boxes and paper leaflets.

* Ensure liquid bottles are securely closed, in their original containers, and do not exceed 1 liter per bottle.

* Fully retract or safely remove any needles from injection devices before bringing them in.
