After a few days off adventuring along the east coast, I came into the room this morning and noticed the Autumn in the space. The sun shining differently through the window, less light and a little cool feel in the air. Autumn is a beautiful time of year and the energy in the practice this morning is mirroring it 🍂

Keeping with relationships, here is a topic which keeps showing up here in the therapy room.

As a woman, have you noticed this?
As a man, have you noticed this?

If you have, this video will give some insight into what is subconsciously going on and how you and your partner might go about healing it.

Sometimes relationships are the greatest mirrors we will ever have.

They show us **how much we've grown**…

…and they reveal the parts of us that are still asking to be healed, understood and strengthened.

The trigger.
The fear.
The boundary we struggle to hold.
The pattern we keep repeating.
The version of ourselves we thought we'd already outgrown.

But growth doesn't always mean staying and working things out.

Sometimes growth looks like communicating differently.

Sometimes it looks like choosing yourself.

Sometimes it looks like letting go.

And sometimes, the greatest lesson a relationship gives us is simply this:

**“Look how far you've come.”**

Relationships aren't just about who we love.

They can become part of the journey of discovering **who we are.** 🤍

Save this for the next time a relationship brings something up in you.

We have hit a milestone - I am now 2 years practicing in Gorey.

It has been a wonderful 2 years of great work being done. Those who have worked with me will know that I do not have a textbook approach and that every time we sit together, we make real change. This is what I am celebrating today - real change with real people.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to go on a journey with them. I get such joy from the bravery you have and the courage you embody every time you show up for yourself across from me.

Here's to many more years therapeutically aligning with people in the beautiful space that is therapy.

🌅How we start our day matters so much.

If you notice that you feel the mornings are tougher for you, try a different morning routine.

For example, if you get up and do the same things, in the same order, every morning, switch it up or carry out the routine backwards.

Or if your morning routine always occurs inside the house, get up, get dressed and just leave the house immediately and go for a walk or skip or swim or simply wash the car, the point is, do something completely different.

The morning slump may have started from something occurring at a point but over time, when that something has ended, we can begin to associate mornings with the struggle. So, we need to teach the brain something new so it can begin to slip away from the pattern.

Let me know how it goes if you try any of these and if you'd like further examples, just drop me a little message.

Do you second guess yourself? Here are some of the reasons why and ways you might begin to change this.

The reasons why we second guess ourselves can start in childhood and adulthood. If a parental figure did everything for you and you did not get to make decisions for yourself, second guessing yourself as an adult may be how it shows up. If as an adult, someone else has made you feel this by belittling your opinion or simply not listening to it, we can begin to see it as an us problem and begin to not trust ourselves. As mentioned in the video, this can also lead to us to then seek approval or validation for our decisions and choices, meaning we never really make a decision based solely on us and our wants and needs.

Either way, if second guessing yourself is taking you off your track, it's worth trying this simple technique touched upon in the video.

I have never really lived in a linear line. I've always known there is something more, and for the last 15-plus years, I have been consciously re-remembering who I am and what I was always meant to be.

Yes, I went to school and even to college, but in my early 20s, I knew the linear line of what's been set out for us was never going to be for me.

I am not the only one that its not for, but most just go along on it because they think they have to.

This is why I developed The Self Trust Reset free online reflection workbook. It is a gentle resource to help you come back home.

You can download it now via the link in my bio or from the comment section below.

Much of my work as a psychotherapist has shown me that way too many of us do not trust ourselves enough to live the life we want. This workbook will help you to re open that part of you and guide you on a journey of inner confidence, the reward that comes when we start trusting ourselves again.

Enjoy the time with yourself when working through the workbook, and please let me know how it goes (DM or messenger works for me)

With love,

Davina.
