BUTT YOGA
Only messing… not a post about butt yoga. But, do you ever sit your butt on the floor or are you always in a chair? There are LOADS of benefits to ditching the chair & sitting on the floor (see below). So if you’re not in the habit of sitting on the floor why not try it; start with 5-10 mins a day while you’re watching tv/having your lunch/reading or whatever (habit stacking) and you’ll soon start to feel the benefits. BENEFITS
🌿Increases mobility: getting up and down to the floor encourages a full range of movement in knee, hip and ankle joints
🌿 Encourages core strength: without the back support of chair to slouch against your whole trunk is being strengthened
🌿 Can help circulation: when you sit on the floor you’re more like to wriggle & adjust your positioning encouraging blood flow which can alleviate restless legs
🌿TIP: If you are sitting on the floor try sitting on a cushion to elevate the hips slightly, this will help support your lower back.
