BUTT YOGA

Only messing… not a post about butt yoga. But, do you ever sit your butt on the floor or are you always in a chair? There are LOADS of benefits to ditching the chair & sitting on the floor (see below). So if you’re not in the habit of sitting on the floor why not try it; start with 5-10 mins a day while you’re watching tv/having your lunch/reading or whatever (habit stacking) and you’ll soon start to feel the benefits. SAVE this post for future reference of share with a friend.

BENEFITS
🌿Increases mobility: getting up and down to the floor encourages a full range of movement in knee, hip and ankle joints
🌿 Encourages core strength: without the back support of chair to slouch against your whole trunk is being strengthened
🌿 Can help circulation: when you sit on the floor you’re more like to wriggle & adjust your positioning encouraging blood flow which can alleviate restless legs
🌿TIP: If you are sitting on the floor try sitting on a cushion to elevate the hips slightly, this will help support your lower back.

Birthday day out for this gorgeous soul today

Got the boat over to Dalkey Island with Neil from for a wander around and chat with the seals. Delicious lunch and a swim/pier jump (well just the swim bit for me) at The Vico… happy out. And all while kids were in school. Win win. Defo check out those spots if you haven’t already done so.

FEEDBACK ON YOGA FOR MENOPAUSE

Thank you so much to the lovely yogis who shared their thoughts & feedback with me on the first yoga for menopause & beyond course we ran this spring. Honestly I feel I learnt as much from them as they learnt from me. Sharing their stories, vulnerabilities and laughter each week was such a tonic.

THURSDAY MID MORNING HATHA

There are loads of benefits to practicing yoga at any time of day but there’s something lovely about carving out time mid morning to just focus on yourself. Our 10am Hatha class gives you an opportunity to pause; in amongst all the jobs & chores of life you can just be with yourself on your mat. The class is a combination of movement (excercise tick!), meditation (mindfulness tick!), breathwork (nervous system regulation tick!) and relaxation (no tick necessary…who doesn’t love that?). Not many practices can give you all that in an hour.

Please share with your pals… for anyone working at home or who happens to have a morning free, come along. You won’t regret it, I promise.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY, FREE COMMUNITY EVENT, 21 JUNE

We are back again this year to celebrate International Yoga Day on the summer solstice, Sunday 21 June with a sunrise yoga practice on South Beach, Greystones, @ 4.50am. Yes, it’s an early start but it’s always worth it… hauling yourself out of bed can be hard but over the last few years we have been rewarded with the most incredible sunrise. And, when there’s so much chaos going on around the world, wouldn’t it be nice to come together as a community, share an experience, and welcome in the light together on the longest day of the year?

TIME TO YOURSELF?

Do you feel like you need a bit of this after a busy weekend/full on week ahead or just because sometimes it’s hard being a human? If so, come & join us tonight Depending on how you’re feeling we have something for you:
🌿Hatha @ 7pm
🌿Yin @ 8.10pm

Both classes include movement, breath work, meditation & relaxation. Yin is slower than Hatha so decide what is pace works best for you today and join us for that. It’s only 1 hour out of your life but honestly, everyone in your life will benefit from you taking this time for yourself.

FLEXIBILITY

If I had a euro for every person who tells me they aren’t flexible enough for yoga I’d be absolutely loaded. The only flexibility you need to practice yoga is in the mind. Can you allow yourself to be open to new experiences? That’s literally it. You do not need to be flexible in your body. I offer a variety of types of regular classes and workshops at so there’s something for everyone regardless of experience or energy levels. Whatever your previous experience you’ll be welcomed in and provided with lots of options and variations to find what suits your body best.

The studio is spacious, warm & cosy. We are fully equipped with props, there’s ample parking and it’s easily accessed just off the N11. A drop in costs €16.50 and a 6 class pass is €90 which can be used over an 8 week period.

If you’re open to new experiences, come along.
If you need a little space for yourself, come along.
If you need a little minding, come along.
If you’re not in the least bit flexible, come along.
