🐝🌼 Daisy and Bee Awards 🌼🐝

We were delighted to host our second annual Daisy award ceremony last Friday while introducing our first annual Evergreen Care BEE awards.

These awards recognise the hard work, dedication and exceptional care given by our nursing home staff to our residents every day.

Thank you to HCA supervisor, Niamh Butler, who lead the ceremony. She spoke about how The Daisy award was established by the family of J.Patrick Barnes to express gratitude to nurses who provide exceptional care during critical times, inspired by the care Patrick received. We now introduce our Bee award alongside this prestigious award , designed to honour all healthcare staff who go above and beyond in supporting patient care. The acronym stands for Being Exceptional Everyday, highlighting the consistent excellence of the recipients.

In attendance from the support office was Director of Operations Karen Byrne , Head of HR Emmet Duffy and Regional Operations manager Catherine Condon.

We were pleased to have Cllr. Stephen Stokes and our local minister of the Eucharist Roisin Long join us on the day in presenting the awards.

🌼 Shiji Joy was proudly awarded the Daisy Award as the 2026 winner presented by our Person in Charge, Min Wei. Marking a significant moment in her journey of dedication and excellence in nursing.

🌼 Anju Manikuttan Mathirampallil was presented with a certificate of nomination for the award by our deputy Danila LaFleur, also a huge and honourable achievement.

We were delighted to have K2Alpacas visit Greystones Nursing Home today.

Nominations are now OPEN for our 2nd Annual DAISY Awards — our beloved programme honouring the extraordinary nurses who care for your loved ones every single day with compassion, care and dedication.

But this year we have something very special to announce… 🎉

Evergreen Care is proud to introduce The BEE Award — Being Excellent Every Day, continuing our tradition as the only group implementing Daisy 🐝

Just like a daisy can’t survive without a bee, our nurses couldn’t do what they do without the incredible support of our whole team — our care assistants, household, catering, laundry, reception, admin, maintenance, activities staff and so many more. The BEE Award recognises these extraordinary team members who go above and beyond every day to make Greystones a wonderful home for your loved ones.

Every DAISY needs a BEE! 🌼🐝
