After activity your muscles have tiny micro tears , that’s normal and part of getting stronger. But they need the right fuel to repair.
Protein is essential after exercise because it helps:
• Repair muscle fibres
• Reduce soreness
• Rebuild stronger muscle tissue
• Support tendons and connective tissue
Try to include a source of protein within about an hour after activity to support recovery.
Think of it this way , exercise is the stimulus, but protein is the repair crew.
