With the warm weather expected over the coming days, we encourage everyone in our community to take a few simple steps to stay safe and well.
✅ Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
✅ Stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm).
✅ Wear light-coloured, loose clothing, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.
✅ Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply regularly.
✅ Keep your home cool by closing curtains during the day and opening windows when it's cooler.
✅ Never leave children, older adults or pets in parked cars – even for a few minutes.
✅ Check on elderly neighbours, family members and anyone living alone.
⚠️ Seek urgent medical advice if you or someone else develops: • Confusion or drowsiness • Fainting • Severe headache • Difficulty breathing • Persistent vomiting • Very high temperature that does not improve
