This weekend is the Helen O'Byrne Memorial Walk and once again St Carthage's House is lucky to be one of the recipients of funds raised on the walk.
The walk goes from Melleray to Modeligo where delicious refreshments are served! We would love to see lots of walkers and you can donate through the link below.

Santa at the Strand will take place from November 26th to 29th 2026! We are beyond excited!!
Bookings open on Friday 11th September and prices will be unchanged from 2025 🙌

St Carthage's House is a hive of activity today.🚧👷‍♂️👷‍♀️
New patio areas are being prepared, paths are being widened.
A bedroom is being reconfigured to add an ensuite and also make room un the adjoining bathroom to add a new deepsoak bath.
A start has also been made on painting all the residents rooms before we commence replacing the floors in August.

The courtyard by our flats is looking wonderful!
The raised boxes, tended to by our residents are in full bloom. New signs for our apartments are up. We even have our own duck pond!!

Some beautiful maples and benches were purchased to brighten up our courtyards and make them more accessible for our residents. These were funded from the proceeds of the staff run raffles at Christmas and Easter.

On Friday last Minister of State for Older Persons and Housing Kieran O'Donnell and our local TD and Minister for Mental Health Mary Butler visited St Carthage's House. This visit was to highlight the model of care St Carthage's House runs, Minister O'Donnell spoke to the board, management and staff asking lots of questions and also had a tour of the home. Minister O'Donnell was very complimentary and impressed with the care, facilities and efficiency of St Carthage's.
