“Every September aged 5 to at least 16, we experienced, not only new books, new classrooms and new teachers, but we progressed.
We grew, we ‘moved up” a year, we returned after the holidays and new experiences and we came back a slightly different version of ourselves.
Our brains may have learned to associate September with fresh starts, change and growth. Hengchen Dai described this phenomenon as the Fresh Start Effect.”
