Martin and Brian had a fantastic evening at the Irish Association of Funeral Directors Regional Members Event in the Rochestown Park Hotel, led by IAFD President Fintan Cooney.

A very informative and practical presentation by Paul Keogh on strategic planning for family-owned businesses was followed by dinner and the opportunity to network with fellow funeral directors from across the region.

Thank you to Fintan, the IAFD and everyone involved for organising such an enjoyable and worthwhile event.

After a month in the Himalayas, I’m delighted to be home having successfully completed both the Mount Everest Marathon and the summit of Island Peak in aid of the CUMH Neonatal Unit.

Together, we have now raised close to €10,000 for the babies and families who rely on the incredible care provided by the Neonatal Unit. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a community, and grateful for the support that made this challenge possible.

The expedition was an unforgettable experience. Of the 218 runners who took part in the Marathon, only three of us had first gone to summit Island Peak before lining up on the start line. It was a physically and mentally demanding month, but every step was made easier knowing the support of East Cork was behind me.

A special thank you to for their sponsorship and support throughout this challenge, and to everyone who donated, shared the fundraiser, sent messages, and offered words of encouragement.

The donation page will remain open until the end of June for anyone who would still like to contribute. - https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/brianofarrell
