It is with great sadness that the CTC shares news of the passing of Dr. Garry Landreth, a true pioneer and original great in the field of Play Therapy. His work and writing have influenced every trained play therapist and his legacy will continue to positively impact the development of future generations in the field. We pass our sincere condolences to Dr. Landreth’s wife Monica, his family, his colleagues and his many friends. He will be sadly missed. His life must be celebrated however, he clearly made the world a better place and his work with families was life changing.

the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

My gorgeous girl’s Confirmation Celebrations! We had the most amazing time with family and friends, it was so very special. I know some of you love the party details so here is a post with some photos and details!

Marion marion_murphy_cooney designed my dress and Emilia’s too. She captured both of our personalities and styles perfectly. The dresses are divine. She really is the best.

Róisín worked her magic on the flowers and they are flawless. Flowers always lift me up and they are continuing to bring me great joy now that the celebrations are over.

I am very fond of a good banner so of course we needed two!! Giovanna created a stunning one for my sitting room, and a gorgeous perosnlaised disc too! They are beautiful. And a seriously talented and creative CTC graduate Vaiva made the most exquisite banner for our party room. I am in love, It will probably stay up until our next party!

I made the images for the frames on Canva and printed them out as photos, they worked a treat as decorations and tied in perfectly to the invitation I created on there too. I reuse the frames at all my parties.

Jack made us the most delicious chocolate biscuit cake and cupcakes to tie in today. He is great to work with and everything tasted as good as they looked. The dessert table was a hit with all!

Mint Catering brought their trailblazer BBQ to us and cooked us up the most gorgeous feast. They brought all the salads, crockery and cutlery too. What a dream!!

Being a play lady I set up loads of different play stations inside and out -creative play, sensory play, game play, physical play - I covered it all! The bouncing castle from topped it all off. The children played all day and well into the evening too.

And of course the universe was on my side and the sun shone for us. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to all the suppliers I worked with on the party and thank you to our incredible friends and family for celebrating with us. It was magic. 💖💚💫

My girl💚 What a day, what a dress, what a beauty! Emilia’s dress was absolutely perfect, thanks to the incredibly talented and all round wonderful person .

We had a beautiful day with our beautiful girl. Confirmation mass followed by tea, sandwiches and cupcakes, then family bowling fun, pizza and pasta. All rounded off with some antics on the bouncing castle and of course some soccer!

And we have a big old party planned for tomorrow too - perfect Confirmation celebrations for my girl. My heart is singing with happiness right now. 💖💚

We are delighted to officially launch of our next intake on our Practitioner Certificate in Creative Therapy with Emerging Adults which is starting this October! We initially sent details to all those who had registered interest in the course and the response was very positive so now as we officially launch we on have 3 places remaining!! So, if you think this course is for you now is the time to apply!

This course aims to meet an identified need for 1.) child and adolescent and 2.) adult psychotherapists, counsellors, play and creative arts therapists who wish to expand their client base and develop specialised skills to work with clients in late adolescents and early adulthood. Suitable Applicants
This training is suitable for trainee and qualified play therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, creative arts therapists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals working within the range of psychotherapeutic modalities with clients of all ages.

Course Fee: €1200

Course Structure
This course runs over 7 full days (10am – 5pm), and 3 separate online supervision sessions. Days 1, 3, 5 and 7 are in person and Days 2, 4 and 6 are live online (synchronous via Zoom). As this is a practitioner award, engagement in 20 clinical practice sessions, and 5 supervision sessions, are required. This supervision is included in the course.

Course Dates:
The 2026 course will run on 3rd October 2026, 6th November 26’, 11th December 26’, 9th January 27’, 15th Feb 27’, 12th March 27’, and 14th May 27’. Nov, Jan and March modules are online, the other 4 dates are onsite in Ballymore. Dates for online small group supervision sessions will be set at the beginning of the training.

Happy birthday to this absolute legend!!! Always ready for fun, adventure, play, and laughter, she truly is a joy to be around. She never shies away from hard work either, she continues to inspire and guide me in all the work I do. CTC, and indeed the field of creative psychotherapy and play therapy in Ireland, would not be where it is today without all Eileen has done to drive it on. Her passion, dedication and work ethic are unrivalled. How lucky I am to have Eileen as my Mam. I couldn’t wish for a better one to journey with me on this rollercoaster of life. Happy birthday, Mam. I love you. Thank you for being you, you are absolutely wonderful. ❤️

Confirmation dresses, for me and my girl, sorted!!! Today was one of those special days that reminds me how very lucky I am to be Mom to my gorgeous girl. We spent the afternoon together and it was truly wonderful. We bought some new play supplies for the Confirmation party, chatted over burgers for lunch, shared memories and made plans in the car as we drove to Nenagh, and I totally delighted in seeing her in her beautiful dress. We were both utterly thrilled with life driving home, a very special day indeed!!

Today also reminded me, yet again, just how fast these years go by. It feels like no time at all since we collected my girl’s Communion dress from and today we were with her again collecting her Confirmation dress - seriously, where is the pause button?!! I will blink and we will be back for her Debs dress 🤣 Massive thanks to Marion for looking after us so well again. I adore Marion and her work, she is one of a kind. And I love supporting small Irish businesses so shopping with her is a total win win! It was exciting to see Marion’s new shop front today too, I am already looking forward to stepping inside the door when it opens. Congratulations again Marion 💖

We still have a bit of time before the Confirmation itself, but those who know me know I love a good party so be prepared for some party spam over the coming weeks 🤣🎉
