Over 10 years ago Christian Visser our Head of Sales sat down with Gerry Jackson at WFS Dublin Airport. There were no CAD drawings, no 3D models and no grand presentation. Just the two of them a blank sheet of paper and a conversation about a temperature challenge. Together they sketched out an idea for a temperature controlled modular roller ball unit for handling ULDs, igloos and pharmaceutical air cargo
Looking back to think that the concept that was drawn on paper is still as relevant today as it was then but even more so now
The pharmaceutical industry continues to grow with products becoming more temperature sensitive and significantly more valuable. Every minute product sits on the tarmac is another opportunity for temperature excursions and break in the cold chain, but consequences extend far beyond the loss of products and In some cases a compromised shipment can delay or prevent life saving medicines from reaching the patients who need them most.
What started as an idea has evolved into a proven modular solution that can be deployed anywhere in the world
At Dawsongroup tcs we can design, manufacture and deliver bespoke modular roller ball facilities for airports, airlines and cargo handlers in as little as 12 weeks from approved drawings. Whether it’s 2°C to 8°C, 15°C to 25°C, frozen storage or multi temperature operations, our facilities can be designed to suit each airport’s operation and expanded as demand grows
For Christian the biggest take away was this…
“the best ideas don’t always come from us they come from listening to our customers”
Our teams job is to understand challenges, work together, and turn those ideas into real world solutions that make a difference
Thank you Gerry, for that conversation all those years ago, It’s a reminder that sometimes the most impactful innovations begin with nothing more than a pen, a piece of paper and two people willing to think differently
Here’s to the next generation of cold chain innovation
