**Does it ever feel like you're carrying more than everyone else?**

It's not just your imagination.

Research suggests women are **around 40% more likely to experience chronic stress** than men. And over time, that stress can show up in ways you might not expect:

😴 You're exhausted, even after sleeping.
🧠 You can't seem to think clearly.
🤍 Your body feels tense or achy for no obvious reason.
🍽️ Your digestion feels "off."
😣 You feel like you're always running on empty.

These symptoms aren't something you should simply "push through." They may be your body's way of signalling that it's been under stress for longer than it can comfortably manage.

At Chiren, we help people understand the connection between stress and physical symptoms, and support the body in recovering from the effects of prolonged stress.

💬 **Can you relate to any of these symptoms?** Let us know in the comments—we'd love to hear from you.

📍Based in Castletroy, Limerick.

Your digestive system and nervous system are closely connected.

When you're under prolonged stress, your body may prioritise "survival mode" over functions like digestion. For some people, this can contribute to symptoms such as bloating, indigestion, changes in bowel habits, or appetite changes.

In this carousel, we're sharing 5 signs that stress could be affecting your digestion and why it's important to consider the role of your nervous system alongside your physical health.

At Chiren, our Trauma-Stress Relief (TSR) therapy focuses on addressing the effects that excessive stress can have on the body, helping to support nervous system regulation.

💬 Have you ever noticed changes in your digestion during stressful times? Let us know in the comments.

For many people, everyday tasks that once felt effortless can become exhausting. Things like carrying the shopping, cleaning the house, playing with your children or grandchildren, or meeting friends may suddenly require careful planning—or feel impossible on difficult days.

Over time, this loss of independence can affect confidence, relationships and overall wellbeing.

It's important to remember that needing support isn't a sign of weakness. Chronic pain is a complex condition, and asking for help is often part of managing it.

At Chiren, we understand that persistent pain is often linked to changes in how the nervous system responds to prolonged stress. Our approach focuses on supporting the body's stress response, with the aim of helping improve overall wellbeing and quality of life.

If chronic pain is affecting your daily life, know that you don't have to face it alone.

Every day is a new beginning. 🌿

No matter what yesterday looked like, today is another opportunity to take a step towards feeling better.

When your body has been under prolonged stress, even small changes can feel overwhelming. Healing isn't about being perfect or making huge leaps—it's about giving your nervous system the support it needs, one step at a time.

Progress looks different for everyone, and that's okay. The important thing is to keep moving forward, at your own pace.

If you've been struggling with persistent pain, fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep, or other symptoms that just won't go away, remember: your body may be asking for support—not because it's failing, but because it's been carrying too much for too long.

✨ Every day brings new possibilities. Why not make today the day you prioritise your wellbeing?
