Did you know Trinity College Dublin’s Long Room is floor to ceiling with over 200,000 ancient books, including the world-famous Book of Kells, and remains one of the world’s most revered library spaces......

It is lined with marble busts of philosophers, writers, and figures associated with the college, the first of which were commissioned in the 1740s. One of its greatest treasures, the 9th-century illuminated manuscript known as the Book of Kells, this was gifted to Trinity in the 1660s and remains a central attraction in the Old Library. The space traditionally housed over 200,000 of the library’s oldest books, drawn from a collection that now totals millions of volumes.

We had a lovely group of American visitors from Idaho in for a tour around the Heritage centre and Gatehouse lead by Ger yesterday. This was their first time in Ireland . We hope you enjoy the rest of your trip .
