Can I do a full body massage in 60 minutes?
Absolutely.
But hereโs the better questionโฆ
Can I give every area the attention it deserves in 60 minutes if youโve got tight shoulders, neck tension, lower back pain, sore hips, tight glutes and aching legs, clenched jaw?
Thatโs a different story.
This week, I spent an entire 60-minute session working on just the back of a marathon runnerโs legs. ๐โโ๏ธ
Hamstrings. Calves. Glutes. Fascia. Trigger points. Mobility work. Stretching. Circulation.
That was the whole session.
So when someone books a 60-minute full body massage and has tension throughout their body, that hour disappears very quickly.
Can I massage the whole body in 60 minutes?
Yes.
Can I properly treat and give the time each area deserves?
Not really.
A 60-minute treatment is wonderful for relaxation, maintenance, or when you want to focus on one or maybeee two areas.
But if youโre carrying tension in multiple places and thereโs a lot happening in your body โ90+ minutes is whatโs needed.
It gives us time to:
โจ Follow where the body is asking for attention.
โจ Release restrictions instead of rushing from area to area.
โจ Let your nervous system actually switch off.
(Thatโs usually whatโs needed most)
Sometimes the most valuable thing you can give your body isnโt more pressureโฆ
Itโs more time. โจ
