The Story Massage Programme is currently being used worldwide in a variety of settings including homes, schools, special schools, after-school clubs, family centres, hospices and hospitals.

One of the easiest ways to start using Story Massage regularly is to work with what is already familiar.

💡 Think about the stories, songs and poems your class already loves.
💡 The book they ask for again and again.
💡 The song everyone joins in with.
💡 A rhyme you use during circle time.
💡 A poem connected to something you are learning.

Once you know the ten Story Massage strokes, you can begin to think about how they might accompany those familiar words.

It means Story Massage doesn’t have to sit separately from the rest of your school day.

It can grow out of the books, language, music and routines that are already there.
