Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.

August 17th, 2026 (unexpectedly) at Galway University College Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Ellen, and his beloved sister Kate (Flanagan), and his brother Pat.

Beloved husband of Marie (Finan) and loving father of Michelle (McLoughlin, Swinford), Claire (Kelly, Ballinasloe) and David (Castlerea).
Mike will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, his son and daughters, his adored grandchildren James, Dara, Odhran, Isla, Jack and Cian.
Also, by his brother Cormac (Boyle), and sisters Martha (Joyce, Glenamaddy), Celia (D’Arcy, Castlerea), and Mary (Donlon, Glinsk).
Sons-in-law James and Micheal, daughter-in-law Sarah-Louise, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home, Castlerea on Thursday evening from 4.30 with removal at 7pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday morning at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Joe Connelly, Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. July 18th, 2026 Peacefully, at home with his family by his side.

Predeceased by his parents Christopher and Elizabeth, his sister Betty and baby James McTague

Joe will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family, wife Mary, sons Marty and Ger (Castlerea), daughters Sandra (Elphin), Maura (Roscommon) and Fiona (Ballinlough), grandchildren Daniel, Keevan, Hannah, Molly, Oisin, Amelia, Ellie, Jack, Noah, Saoirse, Emily and Sam, brother PJ, (Castlerea) and sister Mary Forde (Cu**er). Sons-in-law Seamus McTague, Dougie Doolan and Declan McDermott, daughter-in-law Elaine, and Ger’s partner Nuala. Also, by his mother-in-law Bridget Lyons, brothers-in-law Peter, Pat, John, Tom and Gerry, sisters in law Margaret and Maggie, nephews, nieces, cousins especially Martin, extended family, neighbours and friends

Joe will repose at McDonagh’s Funeral Home, Castlerea (F45 V2Y4) on Monday from 4pm until 7pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday morning to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, followed by private cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin.



Joe’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and can be viewed on St. Patrick's Church we**am.

We pause to remember the dads far away.
Those resting in heaven, shining above,
Forever surrounded by endless love.

For the fathers spending their first Father’s Day in the sky,
We hold their memories close as the hours pass by.
Though the sunset brings moments of sorrow and pain,
Their love lives on like a gentle summer rain.

Please take a moment to remember Dan O’Rourke, Sea Breeze, Knocknacarra, Galway and formerly of Ballindrimley, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon.
Monday, June 15th, 2026, unexpectedly but peacefully, at Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and carers in his 58th year. Predeceased by his father, Brian. Loving son of Lily and brother of Gráinne (Dublin) and Brian Óg (Kiltoom). Dan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, sister and brother, his nephew Ultan and niece Doireann, sister-in-law Jacinta, brother-in-law Joe, extended family and the residents and staff of Sea Breeze, and the Brothers of Charity Services Galway.

Dan will repose at his home in Sea Breeze, Knocknacarra (H91 T2K6), this evening (Tuesday) from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
A celebration of Dan’s life will take place at his home on Wednesday at 12 noon, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Castlerea, arriving at approximately 2.30pm.

Pre-deceased by his parents Richard and Jean, his sister Kathleen (Hardy, Donegal) and his brother Cecil. Dearly loved brother of William (Ballinlough), Albert (Castlerea), Henry (Ballinlough), David (Irishtown) and George (Ballinlough), his sisters Josephine (Taylor), Betty (Taylor), and Bernadette (Lawson) (Riverstown) and Helen (Gibson, Donegal). Darkness can settle so deeply within a soul that even the promise of dawn feels unreachable. Tonight, we think of all those who walked through silent battles unseen by the world, carrying pain too heavy to name, longing for even the smallest glimmer of hope. For every soul who stood in the shadows believing no light would ever find them, may we remember them with compassion, tenderness, and love. And may their memory remind us to be a light for one another — a hand held out in the dark, a kind word, a listening heart — because even the faintest light can guide someone home.

Predeceased by her beloved and adored husband Declan, her brother Tom, her parents Tom and Catherine, her grandson Declan and her grandnephew baby Darragh.
Beloved mother to Ann McDonald (Birr), Siobhan Morgan (Craughwell), John (Castlerea), Caitlin Hester (Castlerea), Thomas (Birr) and Declan (Dublin).
