After a wonderful Nursing Homes Week gone by and observing our residents engagement and ability to try new things….this has now lead us to very new areas of interest. Combined materials, personal artwork, exploration of gardening through a different and creative lens and much more. The possibilities are endless and very beautiful. Every day at SRCC we encourage and open new doors and avenues for our residents enabling them to either continue with there love for a particular area which they do or encourage new opportunities for them in a particular direction they are aiming towards. To everyone who chooses to follow their dreams….absolutely do it and never ever be afraid to do this. ‘The world is your oyster’ so go out and make the best of it ❤️…..our residents are absolutely loving it 👏🏻👏🏻 🍁

So today is Sunday 16th August….it’s a little damper than our previous days but that’s ok too. We have had a wonderful Summer filled with beautiful sunshine, barbecues, ice cream truck visits, outings including the annual agricultural show, music and smoothie sessions in the garden, many walks throughout our retirement village and the list goes on and we’re not done yet 😅. We have all heard the saying ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do’…..We have certainly committed to doing this and on any given day the sun shines, you will 100% see us out in it. If there’s a lesson to be learned in all of this it’s to just do it, try not to stress over what your going to do because the hardest part in doing something new is overthinking in advance of doing it. Once you have started or jumped into it your there. Overthinking sometimes is the biggest hindrance and liability to any one of us. So yes the message is ‘JUST DO IT’ 👏🏻☀️. Have a wonderful week everyone and enjoy doing everything you truly want and love to do ❤️

We live in an ever changing world today and perhaps it is one which many may not recognise. We chat daily here at SRCC with our residents about times gone by, the innocence of how the world used to be and where everyone just got on with their chores and how simple life was. It is lovely to reminisce and remind ourselves of the beautiful place we grew up in where such simple times had actually granted us a chance of being the most special people in the world. We feel so lucky at SRCC to be in a position to relive all these wonderful times whenever we choose. Being kind, caring, considerate of others and most of all looking out for each other is key to living our lives to the fullest. Enjoy everyday and never forget the beautiful times we grew up in and which we continue to do everyday….especially here at SRCC

We’ve all heard of the term ‘team work’ throughout many different social media sites and even I speak of it here. It is of course without a doubt key to any place or organisation where you have multiple people working together. Not everyone works in the same department and we have multiple departments here at SRCC….management, activities, carers, kitchen/catering, laundry, house keeping, maintenance, gardener and the list actually goes on. What I’m coming to basically is that in the event of change happening (for one reason or another in life), everyone is adaptable and can work together. However big or small the group may be, joining forces, helping each other and sticking together during times of change is a true demonstration of how teamwork truly works. Fortunately for us here at SRCC our team consistently show their creativity and abundance of spontaneity for the better of others. Thanks to our amazing team 👏🏻👏🏻

It would be a shame not to wouldn’t it? 😅☀️🍦….our residents, staff members and their children/grandchildren (both on/off duty), thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of the most amazing selection of ice-creams. We have to grab these moments when we can and huge thanks to Craig from for his efficiency, professionalism and kindness shown to all our staff and residents throughout his time with us as always 👏🏻👏🏻. Another wonderful day making more beautiful memories🍦🍦 ☀️ ☀️

We continue our celebrations today for Mayo with our wonderful Maeve Collins on the accordion. Maeve came dressed in Mayo colours from head to toe and delighted all our residents and family members who were present at that time. She has entertained everyone here at SRCC for the past 2 years so today we applaud and thank her for all the wonderful sessions fortnightly and we look forward to many more going forward. Enjoy the compilation 👏🏻🎶🪗
