It really is true that kinesiology can help your animals as well as yourself!

On the Balanced Health Course, we learn a wide range of techniques to identify what may help support a person's health and wellbeing.

One of the techniques we teach is surrogate testing. This can be used when direct muscle testing isn't practical, such as with babies, elderly people, or those who are frail.

What's fascinating is that surrogate testing can also be used with our beloved pets. It may help us explore what could be causing stress for an animal, whether a particular food or water source suits them, or whether they might benefit from additional emotional support such as flower remedies.

The possibilities are truly remarkable. While kinesiology is not a substitute for veterinary care, it can offer another way of gaining insight into the wellbeing of the animals we love and care for.

I continue to be amazed by how much we can learn and how many ways these techniques can be applied, both for people and for our animal companions. 🐾💚

So many people spend years going from one appointment to another… searching, hoping, trying to understand what their body is telling them. For some, conventional medicine is exactly what they need — and that’s incredibly important. But for others, the answers they’re looking for simply aren’t found there.

And then they discover kinesiology.

Again and again, I see clients who arrive feeling stuck, exhausted, and unheard — and over time, something shifts. They begin to understand their bodies, to reconnect, to feel lighter, healthier, and more themselves again. The relief, the smiles, the confidence that returns… it’s truly special to witness.

People are searching. They want a more holistic, supportive approach to their health and wellbeing. And the truth is — we need more therapists to meet that need.

The beautiful thing is: this is something you can learn.

The Balance Health course in Thomastown is starting again this autumn. It’s a 3-month certified course designed to give you a strong foundation. And if you don’t yet have other therapy qualifications, you can continue on to complete a full diploma and begin your own practice — just like I did.
I never looked back. I’ve never regretted it. I genuinely love what I do, and I feel incredibly grateful every day to work with kinesiology and to support others on their journey.

If you’ve ever felt that calling to help people in a deeper, more holistic way… this might be your path.

What if the foods your client is reacting to aren't the problem at all but a warning light on a dashboard you haven't looked at yet?

In the early 1900s, a mysterious disease swept the American South. Tens of thousands were suffering from skin rashes, stomach pain, violent diarrhoea, and mental deterioration. The public panicked. Headlines blamed “musty cornmeal.” Commissions concluded it was an infectious, contagious disease spread by dirty outhouses. Everyone was treating the symptoms.

Everyone except Dr. Joseph Goldberger. Sent by the US Surgeon General to crack the case, Goldberger ignored the prevailing theory. He noticed something the others had overlooked: the doctors and nurses caring for pellagra patients never got the disease themselves. If it were contagious, that made no sense. So he kept asking a deeper question: why?

The answer wasn’t a microbe. It was a nutrient deficiency – specifically niacin – rooted in a diet of cheap, processed corn with no variety. What looked like an epidemic of illness was a symptom of poverty and malnutrition. The body was reacting to what it was missing, not what it had consumed. [Goldberger was nominated four times for the Nobel Prize for his important work on the link between pellagra and poor diet].

When practitioners stopped chasing the symptom and asked what the body was actually trying to say, everything changed. Food sensitivity testing is a powerful tool, but only when we understand what it’s actually telling us.

Here are three reasons why the most effective practitioners treat food reactions as a signal, not a diagnosis.

For 18 months, she couldn’t lift her arm beyond shoulder height.
After just a few minutes using a kinesiology technique, her range of motion improved dramatically—almost overhead.
The look of surprise said it all.

I absolutely love seeing more and more men taking their health into their own hands 🙌
Not because they’ve been nudged by a partner or reminded by their mum—but because they want to feel better, stronger, and more balanced themselves. That shift is powerful.
Kinesiology is for everyone—men, women, all ages. It meets you exactly where you are and supports your body in the most natural, holistic way.
Here’s to taking ownership of your wellbeing 💚

If only dogs could talk… 🐶✨

In Systematic Kinesiology, we don’t always need words to understand what’s going on — and that’s especially important when working with animals and babies.

Since we can’t muscle test them directly, we work with a surrogate — usually the owner or carer — creating a bridge between the animal and the practitioner.

It’s quite amazing what we can discover this way.
We can explore things like: • whether the food they’re eating truly suits them
• if their environment feels right
• whether there is stress or imbalance
• dynamics between animals in the same household
• or even patterns held from earlier experiences

With the right techniques, we can support animals in feeling more balanced, relaxed, and happy 💛
The same approach can be used with babies too — gently and effectively.

If this sparks your curiosity, you’re very welcome to learn it yourself.

I run occasional workshops, and in autumn I’ll be starting my 3-month Balance Health Course — for anyone who wants to explore kinesiology more deeply, for humans and animals.

If you’re interested, just send me a message — I’d love to hear from you ✨
