The more you listen to your body, the more fluent you become in its language. And I think that’s where our inner wisdom comes from — not from knowing everything instinctively, but from learning to pay attention. Read my blog on this , link in my bio

My brekkie looked photo staged on the table so thought I’d take a photo ! Are you agast at the bowl of rice? Well most mornings I have a rice congee which really suits my digestion. In China, most would start their day with congee. What is congee I hear you say and isn’t rice going to raise blood sugars and it’s a lot of carbs...??? Well, when rice is cooked over a long time, in lots of water, it breaks down the starches and allows it to be easily digested . In Chinese medicine, the Spleen and Stomach are known as the body’s “digestive fire” and this is responsible for transforming food into energy, blood, and nourishment for the whole body. When digestion is weak or overloaded with cold foods, the body can struggle with fatigue, bloating, brain fog, cravings, dampness, weight gain and low energy. A warm cooked breakfast supports the digestive system first thing in the morning, helping the Spleen and Stomach work efficiently, improving energy, circulation, hormone balance, and overall vitality throughout the day. The stomachs energy is strongest betwen 7am-9am so eat between this window. Usually congee has added protein added such as pork or chicken, vegetables and herbs. I had leftover rice from dinner so re cooked it in water and added cinnamon, allspice and coconut milk because I love those flavours. But usually I make it fresh and add in fresh ginger , salt and two eggs for protein which makes it like a custard almost. It may sound gross but try it, very soothing. Food is medicine !

Headaches and migraines are one of the most common things I treat in clinic…

And they’re not all the same.

I see:
-Stress based and tension headaches and migraines
-Visual disturbance with nausea and vomiting migraines
-Hormonal migraines linked to your cycle or perimenopause,
-Pregnancy migraines where medication isn’t an option,
-And even young girls dealing with regular headaches.

Acupuncture is evidence-based for migraines.

It works by calming your nervous system, improving blood flow, and reducing pain as well as treating the root cause of your particular headache or migraine.

A proper treatment plan usually looks like:
1 to 2 sessions a week at the start,
Then weekly to stabilise,
And then spaced out for maintenance if needed.

If your headaches are affecting your sleep, work, or quality of life…Acupuncture is for you.

Fertility Acupuncture
Whether you have problems or not, you can benefit greatly from Acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments. An array of issues can be supported and treated successfully. Through your treatment, we can work closely with your fertility consultant or GP where necessary.

The beauty of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine for natural conception is that it can fine tune your body into balance which may be just that missing link to you not getting pregnant. Unlike a quick fix, acupuncture works in natural time with your body and you should expect treatment time to be on average three to six months. This is because it takes three months for new follicles to develop mature healthy eggs for ovulation. During this time, Acupuncture will work on regulating your hormones, balancing your menstrual cycle and correcting any issues out of sync such as painful periods, light or heavy periods and so on. I will work closely with your BBT charts or check your blood work in order to identify any issues around your hormones, length of follicular and luteal phases and also to identify your ovulation window and optimal conception timing. Whilst all this wonderful work is being done, you will find that other health issues you have can be indirectly treated such as digestive issues, problems with sleep, body temperature and of course the inevitable anxiety and sometimes obsession that comes with desperately trying to become pregnant.

And don’t forget the males. As s***m are needed to create a baby, the often overlooked partners also can benefit from acupuncture or herbal tweaking, to assist with healthy new s***m generation and all round good health.
