Why do your ears feel blocked? ππ«
It can be for multiple reasons:
π§Impacted earwax
The most common reason is a build up of excess earwax. Earwax is your body's natural method for cleaning your ears, but sometimes blockages can happen (for example, due to illness or injury), giving you that feeling fullness in your ears.
π§ Moisture buildup
Sometimes after swimming, showering or even heavy sweating, moisture can get trapped in your ears. Moisture build up in the ear can lead to an infection called Swimmers Ear.
βοΈ Air pressure changes
Rapid pressure changes from flying, driving up mountains, can cause rapid shifts in air pressure in your ears.
π Ear infections
Fluid buildup behind the eardrum from a middle ear infection can cause a full, blocked sensation. This often comes with pain or fever.
