Plantar fasciitis or maybe something else.
Heel pain is one of the most common foot complaints that people experience and in so many cases the first thing people will assume is that they are suffering with the dreaded Plantar Fasciitis. That’s understandable as Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of foot pain ( heel pain) that so many people suffer from.
However it is worth noting that not all foot pain is Plantar Fasciitis, in fact several other foot conditions can mimic the very same symptoms, which is why so many people will continue to suffer with the dreaded discomfort even after doing all the home care work such as icing, rolling out the surface of the foot, stretching of calf muscles etc, identifying the real cause of the issue is most important helping to insure proper treatment and long term relief.
Several conditions like Achilles tendinitis, Fat pad atrophy, tarsal tunnel syndrome, compression to nerves in the feet and tears to the plantar tendon can cause that real discomfort felt when placing the foot to the floor when attempting to walk(especially first thing in the morning)
It always amazes me how badly we treat our feet such an important part of our body, the work we put them through every day and yet only when people start to have foot issues they might eventually get them treated.
7000 nerve endings in each foot, think about that for a minute, little wonder then if not looked after we can suffer with discomfort.
There is nothing as good as that feeling when the foot and calf muscles are worked on and all that stiffness, tautness has been reduced and the ankle joint, metatarsal bones can move freely again.
