Pain should be assessed at every contact with the patient and it's not enough to just ask about the intensity.

Getting a pain score is definitely helpful but the conversation shouldn't stop there!

Here are some other questions you can sprinkle into your assessments

✨️What does is feel like?
✨️What makes it worse?
✨️Has the pain changed?
✨️Is it worse in the morning, during the day or at night?
✨️Does it wake you up at night?
✨️Can you point to exactly where you feel the pain?

Sometimes I can get so caught up in working in and on my business, that I forget to take the time to step back and admire everything I have achieved over the last 5 years!
Learning new skills, planning exciting projects and actually doing the work. It's all great but the weeks pass by so quickly and it can feel like I'm not making the progress I wanted.

Speaking to John Daly for this piece and reading it now, I can see what all those long days, late nights, and weekends have built.

I must remember to to a step back & admire the view more often!
