Hard to believe it's one week already since the end of 😍
The welfare conversations have ended.
The music has stopped.
But for many volunteers, crew members, artists, organisers, traders, production teams, and welfare staff, the work isn’t quite finished.
These photos capture something most people never see: the breakdown.
The equipment being checked. The supplies being packed away. The vans being loaded. The final sweep of a space that, just hours earlier, was filled with music, connection, care, and community.
It’s not the most visible part of festival life or PsyCaring, and it certainly isn’t the most glamorous. Yet every cable rolled, every chair stacked, every tent packed down, and every box returned is part of what makes it all possible.
As our communities continue to grow and we welcome new volunteers into both PsyCare Ireland and Éalú Le Grá, it feels important to acknowledge that care takes many forms.
Sometimes it's sitting with someone in distress. Sometimes it's making tea for a tired volunteer. Sometimes it's carrying crates in the rain long after the last participant has gone home.
All of it matters.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, the Éalú Le Grá team, the artists, facilitators, crew, traders, production staff, welfare teams, and everyone else who helped create such a special gathering.
Festivals are built on countless acts of care, many of which happen behind the scenes.
The event ends when the music stops, but the community endures until the last item is packed away, ready for the next time we come together.
