And so with a lot of deliberation & resistance on Oisín & my part we have accepted with Gratitude my friend Elaine, Lizzie, Derek & the Holistic Tribes help to set up a 'go fund me' page. Oisín's care needs are climbing daily from his many comorbidites, which are unpredictable & unforseen, due to treatment (which ironically saved & is saving his life with daily Chemo & Steroidal use). He has Osteopenia (bone deterioration associated with the Elderly) in both hips, a significant limp & now his knees are giving out so he needs mobility aids to get around. It is causing him huge frustration as he had just got a glimpse at a more 'independent' lifestlye, all the while been cared for by Me but managing a little bit more each day himself, this set back is life limiting for him. So with pain management & quality of life been a high priority Oish & I have had to cave in & accept all donations with Dignity & Grace & Volumes of Gratitude. He, most admirably, sees this interruptiion to his life as a blip on the canvass of his Cancer journey & intends to get his mobility back after a hip replacement (possibly two) in the coming years but to do that he needs an Orthopaedic Mattress & a Specialised chair & no doubt many other mobility & comfort aids to get to this stage. And let's face it the waiting lists for the HSE to supply same would mean he would be immobile & need rehab here at home for a lot longer than is necessary!! Thank you to all that have & are donating. We are most Grateful to our friends for pushing us in this direction, for all the time they have spent setting up & maintaining the 'go fund me' page & for their daily, ongoing love & support!! 💓👏
