Solid Spheres was a two-week Creative Workshop at Waterford Academy of Music & Arts (WAMA) and it was wonderful to welcome some new ladies who joined us now that the venue is closer to them. In the first week everyone worked in pairs, soaking old tracksuit pants and towels in cement and shaping them over beach balls. Messy it was, and the beach balls held up great.

This week the cement had cured, the beach balls came out, a little reluctantly, and it all came together. Most of the group were proud of their spheres, and one was shared with Eva, who could not make the first week. Ideas for them ranged from adding lights and plants to covering them in yoghurt to grow moss.

The first workshop at Our Lady of Mercy SNS was Pebble Bash was a relaxed session with Sam, where ten moms used simple pebbles to create their own playful pictures. After some initial hesitation, the group settled into the process, becoming focused and absorbed as their ideas took shape.

Already familiar with one another, there was plenty of conversation and laughter around the table. The group took pride in their work and particularly enjoyed seeing their finished pebble pictures come together.

The Printing Party workshop with the women's group at St Brigids Family Resource Centre was facilitated by Sam. Thirteen ladies rolled ink onto gel plates, pulled print after print and turned them into bunting, with a few beads added along the way. One comment we loved: "I'm not usually creative but I loved that."

Mushroom Magic was our first workshop with the group at W.A.V.E. Training, over two Tuesdays. In the first session the group shaped mushrooms from clay and reflected on how change shows up in their own lives. In the second session the mushrooms were finished with string, knots and beads.

The group described the sessions as very therapeutic and relaxing, and different from what they normally get to do. Everyone ended up creating and enjoying it, including those who are usually more hesitant to join in.

Last Tuesday evening in Wexford, ten of us gathered around the clay for Mushroom Magic, our first Conscious Crafting workshop at Rustig Farmshop Café. We settled in with an amazing grazing board from Marilee, then hands went into the clay and stayed there.
No step-by-step instructions, just shapes, ideas, conversation and quieter moments with the music playing. Every piece turned out completely different.

Thank you to Rustig and to everyone who came. Our next evening at Rustig is Sparkly Season on Tuesday 17 November, book here: https://conscious-crafting.com/product/sparkly-season-workshop-tuesday-17-november-rustig-wexford/

We created lovely little mushrooms and plant mobiles with the Tory Pathfinders group with Sam. The group was full of chats, discussing their weekends with each other and up coming events. Some really enjoy getting their hand dirty and playing with the clay. In the second session, they loved the painting but found the beading a little difficult. In the end they were very proud of their work!

Workshop Gifted marked our first workshop at Waterford Academy of Music & Arts (WAMA) as we settled into the space and enjoyed the creative bustle around us. Over two sessions with Suzan, participants layered gelliprints and transformed their colourful papers into gift bags, envelopes, wrapping paper and tags, with bubble wrap proving a favourite for adding texture.
There was something satisfying about seeing the prints become thoughtful, useful pieces. Fittingly, everyone left with something handmade, ready to be gifted to someone else. We'd love to welcome some new ladies to our group for our upcoming workshops! Get in touch if you would like to know more or have any questions.

Coastal Keepsakes at St Brigids Family Resource Centre was held over two sessions with facilitator Sam, with the group transforming white shells and scallops using sea-patterned serviettes and beads. The group enjoyed working with the shells and adding their own details to the finished decorations. The meditation was particularly well received and one participant shared how good it felt to return to creativity.
