πŸ’™ HELP US BUILD THE NEXT CHAPTER OF MANUP

ManUp started with a simple belief: men in our community should have somewhere to turn when life gets difficult.

Since then, we have grown to provide peer support, one-to-one support, funded counselling, support groups and community outreach to men across Wexford and beyond.

As ManUp continues to grow, we want to make sure the organisation grows properly around it.

And for that, we need good people.

We are currently looking for people who would like to become part of the next chapter of ManUp.

πŸ”Ή TRUSTEES & BOARD MEMBERS

We want to strengthen the team helping to guide ManUp and shape its future.

We would particularly welcome people with experience in areas such as governance, finance, charity/CLG management, mental health, social care, HR, safeguarding, business, fundraising or community development.

You don't need to know everything. We're looking for people who can bring their own experience, good judgement and a genuine belief in what ManUp is trying to achieve.

πŸ”Ή SUPPORT & GROUP VOLUNTEERS

We're looking for experienced people who would like to become involved directly in supporting the men who come to ManUp.

Relevant backgrounds could include social care, counselling, mental health, addiction services, healthcare, family support, community work, homelessness services, peer support and similar areas.

Formal qualifications may be required or preferred for some roles, while relevant professional, voluntary and lived experience may also be considered depending on the role.

Because working directly with people who may be going through a difficult or vulnerable period carries real responsibility, ManUp will have an appropriate recruitment and induction process for these positions.

Garda Vetting will be required where appropriate to the role, along with references, induction and relevant training.

We particularly value people who understand confidentiality, professional boundaries, safeguarding and, importantly, recognise when somebody needs support beyond what ManUp can provide.

πŸ”Ή COMMUNITY & OUTREACH VOLUNTEERS

You don't have to work directly with men to make a difference.

We also need people who can occasionally help at community events, information stands, awareness campaigns, fundraising activities and other ManUp projects.

If you believe in what we're doing and have some time you would like to give, we'd love to hear from you.

πŸ”Ή BEHIND-THE-SCENES SUPPORT

There is a huge amount of work involved in keeping an organisation like ManUp moving.

We welcome people with skills or experience in administration, social media, communications, websites, fundraising, grant applications, events or general organisational support.

Sometimes a few hours of someone's expertise can make an enormous difference.

πŸ”Ή PROFESSIONALS, BUSINESSES & COMMUNITY PARTNERS

You don't need to become a volunteer to support ManUp.

We would love to build stronger relationships with local professionals, businesses and organisations who believe in what we're trying to achieve.

That could mean sharing professional expertise, supporting a project, sponsoring counselling, fundraising, providing services, offering staff volunteering time or partnering with us on something that benefits men in our community.

We would particularly welcome support and advice in areas such as legal, accounting, HR, governance, IT/data protection, marketing and fundraising.

Sometimes the conversation can simply start with:

β€œWhat could we do to help?”

πŸ”Ή AND WE STILL NEED A HOME... 🏠

As ManUp grows, we are continuing our search for a small office/base in Wexford.

We don't need anything elaborate.

We're looking for an affordable and suitable space that could give ManUp a permanent home; somewhere to coordinate our work, meet people and continue developing our services.

If you're a property owner, business, community organisation, or you simply know of somewhere that might be suitable, please talk to us.

There isn't one particular type of person we're looking for.

You might have professional expertise.

You might have years of experience supporting others.

You might have lived through difficult times yourself and reached a point where you want to give something back.

You might own or work for a business that wants to support its community.

Or you might simply have a few hours occasionally and want to help.

We don't expect one person to do everything.

We want to build a strong, diverse and dependable team around ManUp, with different people bringing different skills, experiences and perspectives.

Most importantly, we want people who genuinely believe that men deserve somewhere to turn when they're struggling.

πŸ’™ INTERESTED? LET'S HAVE A CHAT.

You don't need to formally apply before speaking to us.

If something above interests you, or you're not quite sure where you could fit but would like to be involved, get in touch.

And if getting involved isn't for you, please share this post.

Someone you know could be exactly the person we've been looking for.
