πŸ’ͺ Reverse Frog Hypers

Want to target your glutes more effectively during Reverse Frog Hypers? πŸ‘

If your body is positioned too far off the bench, your pelvis can move during the exercise, creating additional lower-back extension.
This increases the contribution of the spinal extensors and shifts some of the work away from the hip extensors.

Keep your pelvis supported and stable, and focus on creating the movement primarily at the hips.

Face Pulls with External Rotation - Don’t Let Your Biceps Take Over! 🎯πŸ’₯

The face pull with external rotation is a go-to exercise for building strong rear delts, scapular retractors, and external rotators, but one small mistake can hinder your progress.

❌ Common mistake:
Excessive elbow flexion shifts the effort to your biceps, reducing activation of the muscles the exercise is designed to target.

πŸ”₯ What to do instead:
Maintain a slight bend in your elbows and focus on initiating the movement from your shoulder blades and rear delts, not your arms.

πŸ’ͺ Single-leg Hip Thrust

Want stronger glutes without adding weight? πŸ‘
Try the Single-Leg Hip Thrust.

By switching from two legs to one, you increase the demand on the working side while also challenging pelvic stability and control.
A simple way to make bodyweight training more challenging, no extra load required.

πŸ”₯ Lateral Raises: Are You Making This Common Mistake? πŸ”₯

Lateral raises are among the best exercises for building strong, defined shoulders, but improper form can shift the focus away from the middle deltoid!

❌ The mistake: Rotating the shoulders outward to lift the dumbbells instead of properly engaging the middle deltoid. This movement relies more on the external rotators rather than effectively targeting the delts.

βœ… The fix: Keep the arms straight or slightly bent, ensuring that your elbows, not just the dumbbells, reach shoulder height.

πŸ’ͺ Seated Leg Press

The Seated Leg Press is one of the best exercises for building strong, muscular legs. 🦡πŸ”₯

High stability lets you focus on loading the quads and glutes, without balance being the limiting factor.
More stability β†’ More loading potential β†’ More stimulus for growth. πŸ’ͺ

The Sots Press is a great exercise for developing overhead strength and control while maintaining a deep squat position. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

It challenges shoulder and thoracic mobility, trunk stability, and your ability to stay balanced while pressing overhead.

A great accessory exercise for improving your overhead squat and sn**ch. πŸ”₯

πŸ”₯ Squat Swing vs. Hip Hinge Swing: What's the Difference? πŸ”₯

At first glance, these two movements might seem similar, but they generate power and engage muscles differently. While both drive the kettlebell upward, the source of that power sets them apart.

πŸ”Ή Squat Swing
The squat swing involves more knee flexion, emphasizing the quads and keeping the torso upright. This makes it a knee-dominant movement ideal for building lower body strength. 🦡πŸ’ͺ

πŸ”Ή Hip Hinge Swing
The hip hinge swing uses minimal knee flexion and focuses on the hips, engaging the glutes, hamstrings, and lower back to generate power. This makes it a hip-dominant motion perfect for posterior chain development. πŸ‘πŸ”₯

πŸ’‘ Takeaway: Squat swings rely on deeper knee flexion, while hip hinge swings prioritize hip movement. Both target different muscle groups and serve unique training goals.

πŸš€ Maximize Your Back Workout and Avoid This Common Mistake 🚫

Many people pull the cable toward their chest during the seated cable row. This shifts more load to the biceps and reduces activation of the back muscles - the main target of the exercise.

βœ… Instead, pull the cable toward your belly button and keep your forearm aligned with the cable. This reduces the work done by the biceps and shifts more effort to your back muscles, especially the lats.

πŸ’ͺ Correct this mistake in your next back workout and feel the difference.

🦡 Do unilateral exercises build more muscle?

One common argument is the bilateral force deficit - the idea that each limb can produce more force when working alone than when both limbs work together.

πŸ€” But does that translate into greater muscle growth?

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis found no significant difference in muscle hypertrophy between unilateral and bilateral resistance training. πŸ’ͺ

Strength was different. πŸ‹οΈ Because of specificity, bilateral training improved bilateral strength more, while unilateral training improved unilateral strength more.

βœ… If your goal is hypertrophy, choose the variation you enjoy and can perform well.
🎯 If your goal is strength, choose the variation that matches the performance you want to improve.

🦡 Squat vs. Sissy Squat

Think squats are enough for your quads? πŸ€” Not necessarily.

The re**us femoris is unique because it crosses both the hip and knee.

πŸ‹οΈ During a squat, it shortens at the hip while lengthening at the knee, so part of the length change cancels out.

🦡 During a sissy squat, the hips remain relatively extended while the knees move into deep flexion. This places the re**us femoris in a more lengthened position and increases the mechanical demand on the muscle.

This doesn’t make the sissy squat better than the squat. It means the two exercises challenge your quadriceps differently.

Adding both exercises to your program may help provide a more complete stimulus for the quads.
