It's time to go outdoors!

Research says that spending time outdoors can help kids’ vision develop normally, reducing the risk of myopia, or short-sightedness. Myopia causes blurred far vision, and is occurring more in today’s kids, due to reduced outdoor time and more time spent on close-up vision tasks like digital screens.
In addition to promoting healthy vision, outdoor time also benefits your child's physical and mental health. Protection from the sun and UV exposure is also important for kids.

It's Myopia Awareness Week 2023!

Have you heard about myopia? This eye disorder affects millions of people worldwide, causing blurred distance vision. It is also known as short-sightedness or near-sightedness.

Myopia often starts in childhood, where it progressively worsens and causes frequent changes in vision.

But a pair of glasses isn't the whole story. Higher levels of myopia increase the risk of eye diseases and vision problems in adulthood. If your child already wears glasses, you can do something to protect their vision and eye health. If they don't you can assess their risk of developing myopia.
