Day 1 of the May Course ❤️🇮🇱

We’re so excited to welcome this incredible group to MDA Overseas. Choosing to come to Israel during such a complicated time says so much about their courage, dedication, and heart.

There are two groups that started this week. One in French and one in English.

The first day was all about meeting each other, starting training, and beginning a journey they’ll never forget. We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes together 🚑

Yom Hazikaron - Day of Remembrance

On this day, we remember Yohai Porat Z"L who fell in 2002 during reserve duty as a combat medic.

Yohai began his time in MDA at age 15 and helped begin the MDA program we know today. He believed it was a great way for Jewish students to experience Israel.

He is remembered by his students, not only as a teacher of knowledge but also as a teacher of compassion and kindness, of calm in times of struggle and the ability to communicate when something was too much to handle.

We do our best to carry on his legacy.

Your memory will always be a part of us.

They stayed through war, showed up every day, and made an impact far beyond the ambulances. Only a week on the ambulances, but a lifetime of meaning.
