After my eldest was born, 6 weeks later I was back at school studying. It was tough, beyond tough, and there was a little too much going on at the time with my beautiful boy's health and I was STRESSED, so stressed, along with thinking I was doing most things wrong
so it was difficult to leave him, I had major guilt, but at the same time, eventually with time, I was grateful to have moments to return to self, to be with me a little.
To stop.
I really value being in a good place with yourself in order for you to then be able to be a functioning happy person, that is responsible for someone else.
You'll usually find me in clinic, insisting couples with a newborn, to NOT spend every waking second with the baby, but actually give that little bundle of love to your Savta or Saba, and take a moment to go, to be, to RECONNECT, to let go a little.
And then come back -
come back fresh,
come back ready,
come back onto your path,
but definitely not only the path we take, after we hit that wall running, and then sometimes it's almost too late.
And sometimes, just sometimes, like today, I see that mumma that is trying so so (too) hard to do everything for their baby in the way they seem to think it should be
(but they don't know who I see in my room)
they think every mumma outside is better, stronger, more patient, less tired than them but in the end we are all the same, and I see the women who finally let down that barrier of being perfect super sweet happy patient energetic mumma here, and finally
They
Let
Go
So girl, take a minute to breath, take a moment to be still, don't worry about what everyone thinks or what mistakes you might make (trust we have all made them, and worse 😂🤭)
Just stop.
You don't need to do everything.
You definitely don't need to do everything in a perfect way.
And sometimes you don't need to do anything at all.
But maybe you should be the one lying on the treatment table and find a way to get some good communication for yourself back into your body, so you can then go back and be with your baby
And just
Be
Just be.
You really are doing an amazing job.
