After a week of representing Israel at UN , our CEO Ahmir Lerner was invited to address the UN General Assembly.

At a crucial time for Israel 🇮🇱 on the world stage, Ahmir spoke as a proud representative of Israeli civil society, calling on the nations in the room to: “Have the courage to defend truth, even when it is uncomfortable.”

This year, showing up mattered more than ever.

We were proud to represent Israel, stand for truth, and continue advancing a world where people with disabilities are included, protected, and heard, especially in times of crisis.

A challah mitzvah for a very special Bat Mitzvah. 🍞🍞

Chen has been part of the Beit Issie family since 1st grade, and this year, as she gets ready to graduate from our Special Education School, she celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in the most beautiful way.

Together with her friends, Chen marked this special milestone with a meaningful pre-Shabbat challah bake. The children braided challah, made the bracha together, and shared in a mitzvah-filled morning in honor of their dear friend.

Chen’s name means grace, and it could not be more fitting. She brings kindness, joy, and the biggest smile wherever she goes.

Mazal tov, Chen. We were so thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you!

From Israel 🇮🇱 to the United Nations 🇺🇳

Yesterday, Beit Issie Shapiro brought an urgent message to the global stage: in an emergency, inclusion cannot be an afterthought.

We were proud to host this side event together with Israel at the UN and משרד המשפטים Israel Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Now more than ever, it matters that Israel shows up, takes part, and shares its leadership in building a more inclusive world.

Our CEO, Ahmir Lerner, represented Israeli civil society and shared real lessons from times of crisis:
“Preparedness is not only about infrastructure. It is about proactive outreach, trained people, and systems that can function under disruption.”

Today, Beit Issie Shapiro is proud to host a Side Event on Preparedness, Protection and Response for Persons With Disabilities in Times of Emergency, together with the Israel at the UN and Israel’s Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Our CEO, Ahmir Lerner, will be presenting as part of this important global conversation on inclusive emergency response.

At a time when Israel is facing serious criticism on the world stage, it is more important than ever to show up, be part of the conversation, and share Israel’s leadership in advancing inclusion, accessibility, and equal rights for people with disabilities.

An update from Israel 🇮🇱
Our Beit Issie families are safe, and we are continuing to operate in line with Home Front Command guidelines.

Our educational frameworks are currently closed, therapies are taking place safely near protected spaces, and professional training courses have moved to Zoom.

As always, we are here for our families, wounded veterans, and everyone who needs us.

This week, Beit Issie Shapiro will be at the United Nations for the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, joining leaders, advocates, organizations, and governments from around the world to advance the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.

We are proud that our CEO, Ahmir Lerner, will be representing Beit Issie and Israel, sharing our knowledge and learning from others as part of the global effort to build a more inclusive society for people of all abilities.

As part of the conference, Beit Issie Shapiro will also host a side event in collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Justice Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

How can Israeli nonprofits use their voice on the global stage to create real change? 🇮🇱

That question was at the heart of a recent gathering of dozens of Israeli organizations with consultative status to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), initiated by the International Organizations Division of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We were proud to take part in the conversation and share from our experience in the UN arena.

Ahmir Lerner, CEO of Beit Issie Shapiro, spoke about Beit Issie’s ongoing work to bring Israeli-developed models, knowledge, and professional experience to international platforms, while advancing the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Shavuot is in the air at Beit Issie! Cheesecake, flower crowns, singing, and lots of smiles 🌾

At our Beit Raz Inclusive Early Childhood Campus, toddlers celebrated with a joyful inclusive Shavuot party, singing holiday songs together 🎶

And our Special Education School kids baked and enjoyed delicious cheesecakes and created their own beautiful flower crowns. 🌸🍰
