*Aesthetic Medicine Meets Longevity Science
Featured in Forbes*
I would like to thank Dr. Tal Patalon for publishing this important Forbes article on the emerging connection between aesthetic medicine and longevity science, and Prof. Dominik Thor for his important contribution to this conversation.
For many years, aesthetic medicine has been guided by what is visible: wrinkles, volume loss, pigmentation, laxity, contour, and skin texture.
Yet these visible signs are only the clinical expression of a deeper biological process.
As highlighted in the article, two patients of the same age, presenting with the same concern, may have “fundamentally different” biology beneath the surface.
Facial and cutaneous aging are shaped by the quality of the tissue beneath: inflammation, extracellular matrix remodeling, vascularity, regenerative capacity, hormonal influences, repair dynamics, and resilience over time.
This is where the language of aesthetic medicine begins to change.
A successful outcome is no longer defined only by a face that looks younger, but by tissue that functions more youthfully: tissue that repairs, remodels, responds, and maintains quality over time.
To me, this is the essence of aesthetic longevity: moving from correction alone toward preservation, tissue quality, and long-term resilience.
This is where aesthetic medicine and longevity science truly begin to meet.
