૧૦૦ માંથી ૦.૩ થી ૧.૯% જેટલા બાળકો ને આ તકલીફ હોય છે.

ટોર્ટિકોલિસ જન્મ સમયે હાજર હોઈ શકે છે અથવા જો બાળક એક જ સ્થિતિમાં ઊંઘે છે અથવા સતત તેનું માથું એક જ બાજુએ રાખે છે તો લેખક ડો. મિતાલી ભચેચ તે ધીમે ધીમે વિકાસ કરી શકે છે. સ્ટરનોક્લેઈડોમાસ્ટોઈડ નામનું સ્નાયુ હોઇ છે ગરદનના ભાગમાં, જે એક તરફ થી નાનું હોઇ છે.
