Is one surgical approach always better than the others?

The answer might surprise you.

In this video, I compare different surgical approaches and explain the advantages and limitations of each:

✔️ Laparoscopic surgery – Faster recovery and less postoperative pain.
✔️ Vaginal surgery – No abdominal scars, but can be more challenging in selected cases.
✔️ Open surgery – Generally not advised when minimally invasive options are available, as recovery is often longer.
✔️ Robotic surgery – Offers enhanced precision and excellent outcomes with faster recovery and less postoperative pain.

One important takeaway: The best surgery isn’t just about the technology, it’s about choosing the right approach for the right patient, performed by a surgeon experienced in that technique 💡

Minimally invasive surgery(Robotic & Laparoscopy) does typically results in less blood loss, less pain, and a quicker recovery compared to open surgery !!

💬 Which technique would you prefer if you had to undergo a surgery?

Comment below, save this post for future reference, and share it with someone who wants to understand their surgical options.

🌸 Not every fibroid surgery is performed the same way.

Today, women have multiple surgical options for myomectomy (fibroid removal), and choosing the right approach depends on factors like the size, number, and location of the fibroids, as well as your future pregnancy plans.

Here’s a quick comparison:

🔹 Open Myomectomy – Involves a larger incision, longer hospital stay, and a longer recovery period. While it may still be required in selected complex cases, it is generally less preferred when a minimally invasive approach is suitable.

🔹 Laparoscopic Myomectomy – A minimally invasive technique using small incisions, offering less pain, smaller scars, and faster recovery compared to open surgery.

🔹 Robotic Myomectomy – Also minimally invasive, with robotic technology providing enhanced precision, improved visualization, and greater dexterity. In appropriate patients, this can help surgeons perform complex procedures while preserving the uterus with the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.

The best surgical approach is always individualized based on your condition after a thorough evaluation by your gynaecologist.

💜 Have questions about fibroids or myomectomy?

Consult a specialist to understand which option is best for you.

🌸 Finding out you have a fibroid can be worrying—but it doesn’t always mean you need surgery.

Every fibroid is different, and so is every woman’s health journey. The right treatment depends on several factors, including your symptoms, future pregnancy plans, and how the fibroid is affecting your quality of life.
In some cases, careful monitoring may be all that’s needed. In others, timely treatment can help improve symptoms, preserve fertility, or prevent future complications.

The key is not to compare your condition with someone else’s. A personalized evaluation is the best way to decide the right course of action.

💜 If you’ve been diagnosed with fibroids, consult a gynaecologist to understand the most appropriate treatment for your specific situation.

🌸 Having regular periods doesn’t always mean pregnancy will happen easily.

Fertility depends on many factors—not just your menstrual cycle. Even with regular periods, challenges can arise due to:
✔ Tubal blockage
✔ Cervical factors
✔ Ovulation issues
✔ Male factor infertility (including semen quality)
✔ Timing and frequency of in*******se

That’s why **both partners should be evaluated** when trying to conceive.

We also address one of the biggest myths about **PCOS**—it does **not** mean you can never get pregnant naturally. While PCOS can make conception more challenging because of irregular ovulation, many women conceive naturally with the right monitoring of ovulation and follicle development.

💜 Fertility is a couple’s journey. Understanding the cause is the first step toward the right treatment.

🩸 Has your period flow or duration changed suddenly?

Many women are unsure what’s considered normal and when it’s time to seek medical advice.
Generally, using 3–5 fully soaked pads per day is considered a normal menstrual flow. However, if you’re experiencing:

✔ Very heavy bleeding
✔ Periods lasting longer than usual
✔ Large blood clots
✔ Frequent pad changes
✔ Fatigue or dizziness

it may be time to consult a gynaecologist.
Your periods can tell you a lot about your health—don’t ignore sudden changes.

💬 Have questions about your menstrual cycle?
Consult your gynecologist and get the right guidance.

💜 For years, heavy and frequent periods were affecting Shikha's health, causing falling haemoglobin levels and constant concern.

Looking for answers, she attended a women's health camp and consulted Dr. Foram Vora at Zydus Family Clinic, Shela.

After undergoing TLH (Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy), her recovery was smoother than she expected.

✔ Comfortable recovery
✔ Walking soon after surgery

✔ Discharged within 2 days

Today, she describes her experience in one word:
✨ "Excellent."

Patient experiences like these remind us of the importance of seeking timely medical advice and choosing the right treatment when symptoms begin affecting quality of life.
