A Meaningful Meeting at MedTech Uganda 2026 — Advancing Innovation in Women’s Health 🇺🇬🤝🇮🇳

Today at the MedTech Uganda & Uganda Pharm Expo 2026, I had the privilege of meeting Hon. Sanjay Tanna, Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Uganda, at the CLAPS Industries exhibition stall.

It was a truly inspiring and meaningful interaction, where we had the opportunity to present and discuss CLAPSFEMINA® — our innovative women’s health nutraceutical solution, developed with a clear vision of addressing important challenges faced by women.

Our discussion focused not only on the innovation behind CLAPSFEMINA®, but also on the larger opportunity to bring science-driven, quality-focused and innovative healthcare solutions to women across Uganda and the African continent.

Job Description

CLAPS Industries Private Limited is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Diploma Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Electrical Control Panels.
Maintenance of LT Panels, MCC Panels, MCCBs, VFDs, Starters, Switchgear, and Power Distribution Systems.
Industrial electrical wiring, cable laying, and machine electrical installations.
Operation and maintenance of AHU (Air Handling Units), HVAC systems, and Clean Room electrical systems.
Preventive and breakdown maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging machines.
Maintenance of utilities including Compressors, Chillers, Air Dryers, RO/DM Water Systems, Pumps, and DG Sets.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control panel schematics.
Troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, and instrumentation.
Ensuring uninterrupted electrical operations of the manufacturing facility.
Following GMP, safety, and electrical compliance standards.
Supporting installation and commissioning of new machines and utility equipment.
Basic mechanical maintenance of pharmaceutical equipment will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Electrical Control Panels.
Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants is preferred.
Hands-on experience with AHU, HVAC, Clean Room systems, and industrial electrical maintenance.
Knowledge of PLC, VFD, MCC Panels, and industrial automation.
Ability to independently troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
Qualification
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, or FMCG manufacturing company.
