Droopy eyelid (Ptosis) is not always just a cosmetic concern.
When a severe ptosis covers the pupil in infancy or early childhood, it blocks light from reaching the retina. Without timely treatment, the brain may fail to develop normal vision, leading to stimulus deprivation amblyopia (lazy eye)—a condition that can become permanent if missed during the critical period of visual development.
👁️ Early diagnosis and timely surgery can preserve vision. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
