A fracture is not just about a broken bone — blood supply can determine how well that bone heals.

Some fractures are particularly concerning because damage to their blood supply can increase the risk of delayed healing, non-union or avascular necrosis (AVN).

🦴 Scaphoid fracture — certain fractures can compromise blood flow to part of the bone.
🦴 Neck of femur fracture — the blood supply to the femoral head can be disrupted.
🦴 Talus fracture — significant fractures can compromise its relatively vulnerable blood supply.
