At 77 years of age, living with a large hiatus hernia can gradually take away comfort from even the simplest daily activities — eating, sleeping, breathing comfortably, or lying flat.

This wonderful lady underwent a Robot Assisted Hiatus Hernia Repair with Fundoplication at our center.

Within barely 12 hours of surgery, she was able to walk comfortably, recovering smoothly, and ready to return home with confidence.

That is the strength of precision-led minimal access surgery backed by structured peri-operative care, anesthesia protocols, enhanced recovery pathways, and coordinated teamwork.

At our center, the “One-Day Recovery Promise” is built around exactly this philosophy:
Safe surgery. Faster recovery. Early return to life.

Precision Stories.

In a Minute with Dr Soni – Episode 13

How do you eat after Bariatric Surgery?

Yeh ek common concern hota hai — kya surgery ke baad normal khana possible hai?

Simple answer — Yes. But gradually.

Bariatric surgery ke baad eating ek structured process hota hai:

• First few days – liquid diet
• Next few weeks – soft food
• Then slowly – normal home food

Long term mein patients sab kuch kha sakte hain, lekin small portions mein.

Focus rehta hai:
• High protein diet
• Slow eating
• Proper chewing
• Avoiding sugary liquids

Most patients surgery ke baad better eating habits develop karte hain automatically, kyunki body signals change ho jaate hain.

Golden takeaway ⭐

Bariatric surgery stops overeating — not normal eating.

Patients needing Abdominal & Hernia Surgery are often given options of Open / Laparoscopic / Robotic Surgery.

We see that the understanding of benefits of Laparoscopic (Minimally Invasive / Key-hole Surgery) over Open Surgery are very clearly evolved & understood now.

However, the concept of Robotic Surgery still remains new and overwhelming for patients and family members to understand.

Here's a short video explaining Robotic Surgery, how it works, as compared to Laparoscopic Surgery and Open Surgery Techniques.

is more than just a book!

It's a journey that one can feel while reading the memoir. The era detailed in the book is something each Surgeon should be aware of!

The start and the explosive growth of Laparoscopic Surgery in India is nothing short of an epic in itself.
One can't thank Dr Udwadia enough for sowing the seeds of Minimally Invasive Surgery.

I bow to him and all the seniors of his time to have faced unparalleled struggle in establishing the foundations of better surgical care in India.

Must read for every Surgeon & each medical student.
