My talk on Brain Lesioning by RF Ablation in Parkinson’s in Case ConunDRum 3.0 conference at GIFT City, Gandhinagar. Brain Lesioning is the next disruption in treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.

When chronic, severe pain becomes so unbearable that even the strongest medications like morphine, provide little or no relief, life can feel as though it has come to a standstill.

For patients who have exhausted multiple treatment options, Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) of specific pain-modulating centers in the brain offers a safe and specialized solution. While it may not eliminate pain completely, it can significantly reduce its intensity and duration - transforming pain from "unbearable" to "mild," making the sensation much easier to live with.

This relief allows patients to shift their focus away from constant suffering and return to meaningful activities, relationships, and restful sleep.

In this case, a young woman from Tanzania, suffered a devastating nerve injury following a road traffic accident. She developed a severe Brachial Plexus Injury, where multiple nerve roots in her neck were completely damaged. For nearly 2–3 years, she lived with intense neuropathic pain in her left hand - described as burning, tingling, and constant pins-and-needles sensations.

RFA helped reduce her pain significantly, allowing her to sleep comfortably again "like a baby" and return to her normal daily routine with confidence.

Advanced neuromodulation is not just about reducing pain - it’s about restoring quality of life.

Along with my partner Dr. Pulkit Purohit, we continue working towards advancing precision lesioning and neuromodulation to help patients regain control over severe pain and improve their quality of life.

A year ago, severe Cervical Dystonia caused his neck to deviate to the left side.
He had to constantly adjust his posture and use his hand to support his neck while walking.
Simple daily activities became exhausting, and his confidence was deeply affected.

Today, 1 year after Brain Lesioning using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), his neck position has improved significantly and he is living comfortably again.

✅ Neck position significantly improved
✅ Able to look straight comfortably
✅ Independent in daily routine
✅ Confidence restored

This is not just symptom relief. This is sustained functional recovery.

Along with my partner Dr. Pulkit Purohit, we continue working towards advancing precision lesioning and neuromodulation to help patients regain control over movement disorders.

When medicines and conventional treatments are not enough, advanced procedures like RFA can offer meaningful improvement.

Patients often ask me:
"What happens during an RFA procedure?"
"Is it painful?"
"How quickly can I recover?"

In this video, I answer these common questions and explain the complete RFA process — from preparation to recovery — in a simple and patient-friendly way.
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a modern, minimally invasive treatment used for conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, tremors, dystonia, and writer’s cramp, especially when medications are not giving sufficient relief.

This video is meant to educate and guide patients and families so they can make informed decisions about treatment.

A year ago, severe Essential Tremor was affecting his daily life.
Constant right hand shaking made even simple tasks difficult and impacted his independence.

Today, 1 year after Brain Lesioning (Thalamotomy) using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), he is living with steady hand and renewed confidence.

✅Tremors under control
✅Independent in daily activities
✅Back to normal routine
✅Active and confident

This is not just temporary relief. This is sustained recovery.

Along with my partner Dr. Pulkit Purohit, we continue working towards advancing precision lesioning and neuromodulation for better patient outcomes.

When medicines don’t help enough, advanced treatments like RFA can make a difference.

A year ago, Parkinson’s disease with medication-induced dyskinesia was affecting his everyday life.

Uncontrolled movements, baby steps, and frequent imbalance and falls made routine activities difficult. He had to step away from work and gradually lost confidence in daily life.

First choice of treatment for such cases would be DBS (Deep brain stimulation). But like him, offering DBS surgery would not be possible for so many patients for various reasons.

So we offered him Brain Lesioning using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) 1 year back. Now he is independent, confident and back to work.

✅Better movement control
✅Reduced medications
✅Increased ‘on period’ without dyskinesia
✅Better step length and no falls
✅Independent daily life

Brain Lesioning gives many years of good quality of life in selected cases of Parkinson’s, especially in patients who cannot afford or do not choose DBS at present. It gives them more years to financially plan for DBS surgery, who are not yet ready.

Along with my partner Dr. Pulkit Purohit, we continue working towards advancing precision lesioning for better patient outcomes.

When medicines don’t help enough, advanced treatments like RFA can make a difference.

Almost 2 years ago, uncontrolled neck movements were affecting her daily life. She was a banker. Cervical dystonia took her career away.

Today, 1.5 years after Brain Lesioning (Thalamotomy) using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), she is back to work, independent and living confidently. This is not temporary relief. This is sustained recovery.

Brain Lesioning is the robust and long-lasting treatment for many patients of Dystonia of various kinds. Along with my partner Dr Pulkit Purohit, we are committed not just to propagate the science of Lesioning, but to take it to the next orbit in the era of highly precise Neuronavigation, high-resolution imaging and MER (Micro-electrode recordings).

Cervical dystonia can be treated. When medicines don’t help, advanced options like RFA may offer hope.

1-Year Outcome After RFA for Essential Tremor:
1 year ago, severe tremors were affecting her everyday life. Holding a glass, writing, even simple tasks felt difficult.

Today, 1 year after Brain Lesioning (Thalamotomy) using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) - she is living independently, confidently, and without limitations.

This is not immediate change. This is sustained recovery.

Movement disorders can be treated. When medicines don’t help, advanced options like RFA can make a difference.
