AOCO Conference 2025 was a truly enriching and impactful experience, an obesity-focused conference that brought together some of India’s finest endocrinologists alongside distinguished experts from the Asia–Oceania region.
The scientific scope of the conference was exceptionally broad and future-oriented, addressing the evolving landscape of obesity management. Key discussions included the future of obesity therapeutics, the role of chronobiology and circadian rhythms in metabolic regulation, comprehensive medical and lifestyle interventions, dietary strategies, and the complex concept of diabesity, offering a holistic and evidence-based perspective on obesity care.
It was a great honour to be felicitated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India.
As a President, it was a privilege to be part of this remarkable academic journey. I extend my sincere thanks to Dr. B.M. Makkar for conceptualising and organising such an outstanding conference, and to all the doctors and faculty for their time, trust, and collective efforts, which made this event both meaningful and memorable.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to represent OSSI, India at the prestigious annual conference at Harrogate by BOMSS (British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society) & ASGBI (Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland).
The experience was truly enriching! I appreciate the chance to connect with fellow professionals Dr Raj Palaniappan , Dr Aparna Govil Bhasker

The conference was exceptionally well-organised, insightful and engaging. I particularly enjoyed interacting with our fellow British Colleagues Dr Randeep Wadhawan, Dr Sumeet Shah, Dr Chetan Parmar, Dr Kamal Mahawar, Dr Menon.

I extend my special thanks to Mr James Byrne ( BOMSS President) & Mr Nick Carter ( BOMSS ASM Chair). Kudos to the entire team and sponsors for their efforts. Looking forward to future events and the chance to reconnect with community.
